History[]

Rufus County International Airport is an airport located on 823 Concourse Avenue in Rufus County, New Shire. Rufus County International Airport was founded on January 1, 2017 when Michelle And Frank Rufus we’re discussing plans for adding travel and transportation options for citizens. This would soon make them very famous, and high regarded.

Materialization[]

Long before the Airport was scheduled to be built, Frank Rufus aimed his attention to the design and layout of the Airport. He knew that many airports before his in other states and country’s Lacked artistic choice and decisions, which inspired him to create new designs. This paved the way for transportation for future projects.

When he materialized his creative visions for the Airport, the conceived, budget would not cover all of the materials, needed for completing the airport’s main terminal and runways and taxiways. Funding through the Zankburg National Transportation Safety Administration, which allocated Rufus County, $3.5 Billion dollars in funding for the Airport, and for other resources.

Planned Upgrades[]

On March 24, 2022, the Rufus County Transportation Network announced that Rufus County International Airport's main terminal building would be demolished to allow for the RCIA to build one main terminal that will offer the airport more space and allow for vendors and retailers to move in and generate revenue for the County Of Rufus. The plans were in effect until June 1, 2022, when the New Shire Transportation decided to vote on whether it would shutdown the airport in lieu of the construction of a more modern airport, which will serve the Rufus-Nimitz County Area.

Planned Closure[]

On June 4, 2022, The New Shire Transportation Authority voted to close down the Rufus County International Airport after the Rufus-Nimitz International Airport is completed and opened to the public. On March 12, 2024, it was announced that the vote had been reversed and that the Airport would not be closing. Upgrades continue to be made to the airport complex, including the recent completion of the lengthening of Runway 25/7. The airport is planning on constructing a runway 25L/7R which would rename the existing runway 25/7 to Runway 25R/7L. Replacement and redesign work on the Airport's terminal roof has been completed, being started in October 2023.
