Richard Lewis Banks(December 31, 1971) is an author and retired Lawyer, Politician who served as the 2nd Vice President of the United States Of Jesstopia from November 28, 2020 until August 19, 2022. He served as acting President from June 28, 2022 - July 1, 2022, then again from July 31, 2022 - August 4, 2022. He was the 3rd Supreme Court Justice of the The J.S Judiciary Bench. He was the acting Supreme Court Head Justice of the Supreme Court from August 5, 2020 to November 28, 2020. His term expired on November 28, 2020(following his appointment to the Vice Presidency).

Education[]

Banks studied at the University of Phoenix where he obtained his MBA as well as his masters in Government Ethics. During his time at college he obtained his Law major at the Jesstopian Judiciary Committee School Of Leaders.

Banks also earned his honorary scholarship, named "The Richard L. Banks Law School Scholarship." He is an inductee in the JJCS Hall Of Scholars.

Marriage[]

Banks married Trisha Banks on July 21, 1999. They had a private ceremony and later a family wedding at St. Lutheran Church Of Christ. On September 21, 2022, Trisha Banks announced that she would be filing for a divorce amid his sexual misconduct and abuse of power trial.[1] Trisha died on May 28, 2024, before the divorce could be finalized. She died from a Brain Hemorrhage after years of seizures which is ruled as a contributing factor.

Vice Presidency(2020-2022)[]

Following the Death of former President Joe Diester on November 28, 2020, John McCallum became The United States Of Jesstopia's 2nd President, whereas Banks became The United States Of Jesstopia's 2nd Vice President. His term was set to expire on November 16, 2024.

On May 2, 2021, an assassination attempt was carried out by Joshua Lane, at Fort Jesstinian.

Notable Events[]

On January 31, 2022, Banks held a press conference to address reporters and explain President John McCallum's plan to block State Governors from reopening schools. He denied that the President had exceeded his authority and that his actions to prevent State Governors from reopening schools was unconstitutional.

Acting President[]

On June 28, 2022, Banks took over as acting President of the United States Of Jesstopia, the role in which he will hold for 5 days, as President McCallum receives his first round of chemotherapy for a recent bone cancer diagnosis.[2] He was sworn in as acting President at 7:00 AM. President McCallum, under the Jesstopian Constitution, will remain in constant contact with Nationalist House Press Secretary Lynn Rodgers for updates on what is going on in the Nationalist House.[3] He formally returned to his Vice Presidential duties on July 1, 2022.

On July 31, 2022, President McCallum announced that he would be temporarily transferring powers to Banks as he will undergo early morning chemotreatment.[4] On August 4, 2022, he returned to his duties as Vice President.

Controversies[]

On August 14, 2022, Banks was accused of inapropriate touching and making inappropriate comments. He is currently being investigated and is facing impeachment if found guilty.[5] On August 16, 2022, it was announced that the Justice Department had subpoenaed Banks for further questioning and to obtain his side of the story.[6]

On September 11, 2022, a court ruled that Banks was guilty of Sexual Misconduct and fostering a hostile work environment.[7]The same court wants the Senate to investigate his conduct and bar him from holding elected or appointed public office in the future.[8][9]

Resignation[]

On August 19, 2022, Banks announced that he would immediately, resign as the 2nd Vice President Of The United States Of Jesstopia amid allegations of sexual misconduct and sexual abuse.[10] President McCallum announced via Twitter that a replacement VP would be selected by noon that afternoon.[11]

Presidential Pardon For Sexual Assault Conviction[]

On July 13, 2024, early in the morning, President John McCallum issued a pardon, clearing him of any charges, and legally reversing his election bid 10 year ban, which was issued in 2022. President McCallum cited "significant lack of substantial evidence, relying solely on circumstantial evidence." The pardon was granted and announced sometime after 2:00 AM on November 13, 2024.

Post Vice Presidency(2022-Present)[]

Since leaving office, not much has been announced and referenced about Richard Banks. He has written a few books and is planning a political comeback, but the details of the comeback are not known at this point. He left office after resigning on August 19, 2022. On November 13, 2024, President John McCallum pardoned Banks, and reversed an order that requires him to wait 10 years to run for office again.

Books And Novels[]

As of November 10, 2024, Banks had sold over 36 million copies of his books, which he published in 2022 and 2023 respectively. He earned over 28 million dollars on his books, and he is set to write more novels in the next few years.

On August 25, 2021, Vice President Richard Banks spoke with reporters during an event, where several asked for an answer pertaining to his potential decision on running in 2024.[12]

Announcement Of 2024 Presidential Candidacy[]

On April 7, 2022, Vice President Banks announced that he would seek the Presidency in 2024. If he successfully snags the Nationalist Party Nomination, he may rip away Thomas Cooke's chances at the Presidency.

Withdrawal Of Presidential Candidacy[]

On July 21, 2022, Banks announced that he would not be continuing to raise funding.[13]

Authorship(2023-Present)[]

On January 1, 2023, Banks published his first book entitled "The Highs And Lows," a story about his battle with depression and anxiety as a teenager. He is currently working on two additional books that he says will be released in mid-late 2024.
