Micheal E Wendtz(November 3, 1949 - March 4, 2024) was a Jesstopian Politician, Leader and Social Activist who served the 25th Lt. Governor Of New Shire from May 10, 2022 until March 4, 2024. He was selected by Governor Thomas Cooke on March 27, 2022. Wendtz is known for his role as a State Senator from 1974 - 1992. He then served as the health Commissioner of the City Of Peach Tree from 1995 - 2004.
Lt. Governor Of New Shire(2022-2024)[]
On May 10, 2022, Wendtz succeeded Fred Lacker as New Shire's Lieutenant Governor. He was appointed the position by Governor Thomas Cooke. Over the course of his tenure as New Shire's Lt. Governor, Wendtz has been a strong advocate for School Safety, and has lead the coalition strongly addressing the school safety measures and finding ways to implement them. On March 4, 2024, Wendtz died at the age of 74, leaving the office vacant.
School Safety[]
In late 2021, Wendtz worked to establish the SAFE SCHOOLS act which would create heavy penalties for those who make false or valid threats towards a school. Such penalties would include 10+ years of incarceration, which would extend the possible 2-5 years in federal or state prison. The act would also immediately revoke weapons licensing, as well prevent the accused from accessing or coming anywhere near a public school or vocational program.
Poverty and Homelessness[]
Wendtz has shown extreme concern for the amount of homeless that are on the streets around New Shire. He is continuing to work towards solutions to the homelessness problem around the state. On October 29, 2022, Wendtz went to several major under-privileged towns and cities across the state to announce the state's plans as well. He was well received, and he even gave a 9 year old some money.
Governorship[]
It was announced that Wendtz would eventually become the 45th Governor when Governor Cooke runs for President in 2024. Wendtz has been supported by the State's Nationalist Party and they have announced that they eagerly await his Governorship. Governor Cooke later rescinded the statements that he would leave office before May 10, 2024.

In Late March, then-Lt. Governor Fred Lacker said that he was not seeking to continue his duties as Lt. Governor of New Shire. Furthermore, Gov. Cooke replaced him with current Running Mate Micheal Wendtz.

2024 Run For Governor[]
Micheal Wendtz announced his candidacy for governor in April and said that he would seek to receive the party's nomination. However, after a health scare, he announced that he would not continue his search to win the office on August 6, 2023.
State Senate(1974-1992)[]
Wendtz served in the New Shire State Senate from 1974 until 1992. During that time he advocated for stronger cancer research at a federal level and worked to fund several projects that would allow him to do just that. He was working with Congress to address the concerns for cancer that is the leading cause of death in the United States Of Jesstopia. He successfully negotiated a 25 billion dollar cancer research bill that stalled in the state's House.
Health[]
On December 23, 2023, during a speech given to press by Governor Thomas Cooke, Wendtz was seen leaving the press conference early, where he was then taken by ambulance to the Hospital. It was later revealed that he had fallen significantly ill, and was under medical supervision. A day later, on December 24, 2023, Wendtz announced that he was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. He announced that he would finish out his term before leaving office in May 2024. He said that he would enter hospice care after his term concludes.
Death[]
On March 4, 2024, at approximately, 12:00 PM, staffers of Wendtz arrived at his Hillcrest Home in Hillcrest, New Shire, to pick him up to bring him to a meeting with Governor Thomas Cooke. He was found unresponsive in his home and the staffers called emergency services and attempted CPR. He was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel at 12:35 PM. He died following a less than four month battle with stage 3 cancer at the age of 74.
