Micheal Van Heusen(August 5, 1972) is a Jesstopian-German politician and military officer who served as the 22nd Secretary Of Defense from 2023 to 2024. From October 31, 2024 until February 25, 2024, Van Heusen served as interim Defense Secretary. Van Heusen has previously served in the Jesstopian Army where he reached the rank of Colonel. He also served in Afghanistan until 2021, where he served in Jesstopia's 256th Battalion. Van Heusen was succeeded by Corbyn Willard as the 23rd Secretary Of Defense on November 16, 2024.
Early Life[]
Van Heusen was born on August 5, 1972 in West Dam, New Shire to German-born parents Clause Van Heusen and Hilda Van Carues. He has two brothers Michel and Lorenzo Heusen. He had a sister but she died in early 2015 due to breast cancer. He attended Roberto High School and graduated as one of the top 20%.
New Shire National Guard(1996-2002)[]
Van Heusen was part of the New Shire National Guard from 1996 until his 2002 when his second contract expired. He went onto focus on active duty with the Army, something which he did from 2008 until 2018. During his time with the National Guard, he achieved rank of Lieutenant. During his military service, he responded to several missile scares. He began training and school to become an army pilot.
Department Of Defense[]
Van Heusen has worked in many sectors within the Department of Defense, including several leadership roles, and as an Army Soldier, a Jesstopian Marine and then finally finishing off his military service in the Jesstopian Air Force. But aside from his front line military service, he worked for the Defense department both in senior and junior leadership roles.
Intelligence Officer(2007-2014)[]
Van Heusen was appointed to serve as a Jesstopian intelligence officer within the Jesstopian Military. When he was promoted to colonel, he was tasked with running the Intelligence Agency's Overseas Criminal Task Force. During his time with the agency, he worked over 40 criminal cases and worked undercover for more than 25 of those missions.
Secretary Of Defense(2023-2024)[]
On October 31, 2023, Van Heusen was appointed interim Secretary Of Defense by President John McCallum following the resignation of Sharron Diez. He has served since as the interim Defense Secretary until November 21, 2023, when it was announced that he would be sworn in as the 22nd Secretary Of Defense on November 28, 2023. His swearing in was postponed due to the nature of the ongoing investigation into the Gaza bombing that killed hundreds of children. On February 25, 2024, he was officially sworn in as the 22nd Secretary Of Defense. He left the Defense Department on November 16, 2024, when Corbyn Willard was sworn in as the 23rd Secretary Of Defense.
2024 Jesstopian Withdrawal From Ukraine[]
On July 28, 2024, President John McCallum issued that the United States Of Jesstopia would begin pulling troops out of Ukraine and fully withdrawing Jesstopia out of Ukraine in three phases. Van Heusen began issuing directives to the Military Departments of the Navy, Marines, Army, and Air Force, to begin preparations to withdraw out of Ukraine.
