Mark L. Maulkinkski(December 17, 1980 - November 10, 2023) was a former Jesstopian politician who served as the 43rd Governor of New Shire from May 10, 2017 until September 28, 2021. He was the 6th person to hold rank of Governor and Lieutenant Governor of New Shire State. He resigned on September 28, 2021. He was unable to run for elected or appointed to public office due to his impeachment.
Early Life[]
Mark Maulkinkski was born on December 17, 1980 to parents Sharon Maulkinkski and Louis Maulkinkski. He was raised in a Christian Household. Throughout his childhood, he remained true to his christian faith. He attended Fishmouth High School(a now defunct school), which was part of the Fishmouth Central School District.
During his senior of high school, Governor Toman Elderson offered him a apprenticeship with Lorray Governor's Office as deputy secretary, after receiving several awards, from the J.S Governor's Association(at that time known as the Governor's Federation)
Government Positions[]
On June 3, 2000, Maulkinkski was offered a Secretary of State job, as the 44th Secretary of State of New Shire. He was elected the 43rd Governor of the State Of New Shire during a special election held on May 10, 2017 and again on May 10, 2019. He left office on September 28, 2021 following his resignation on September 26, 2021.
Governor's Office[]
Governor Maulkinkski was elected to the office on May 10, 2017. He was reelected to the office on May 10, 2019. On September 26, 2021, Maulkinski announced his resignation, due to his looming impeachment trial for his blantant abuse of power, gross negligence and ignoring national safety warnings.
Legal Issues[]
On August 24, 2021, Governor Mark Maulkinkski was publicly questioned about why he remained so firm on his plans to reopen schools in the fall. Several Child Health advocacy organizations called on Gov. Maulkinkski to respond appropriately to his the current COVID 19 crisis.
On September 2, 2021, several lawmakers called for the resignation of Gov. Maulkinkski due to his mishandling of New Shire School reopening. Several lawsuits were filed but only 4 were approved and passed forward.
On September 9, 2021, an official date was set up for his firs trial which will determine if the Governor should be charged with Gross Negligence and Abuse of Power. It is scheduled for November 12, 2021, at 12:00 Pm in Rufus County Municipal Court.[1]
On September 16, 2021, A Senate Panel of Several Judges held a Pre-Trial to determine if a Impeachment Inquiry would be approved and established as Constitutionally acceptable, and whether the Governor is actually guilty of abuse of power. The same meeting and panel determined one that he is guilty of abuse of power and whether an impeachment inquiry should be executed. The panel’s findings, proved that the Governor is guilty of abuse of power.
On September 17, 2021, Governor Maulkinkski held a press conference a day earlier than expected. During that time, he told reporters that he would not resign as he has done anything wrong.[2] He maintained that he suported his decision to keep public schools open during the height of COVID-19. He also addressed the sexual assault allegations that were leveled against him.
On April 23, 2022, it was announced that a former staffer accused the former New Shire Governor of sexual harassment. The women claims that he had inappropriately touched her as she passed. The report was filed with the New Shire State Police.[3]
Impeachment[]
On November 12, 2021, Governor Maulkinkski is scheduled to be in Rufus County Municipal Court where he will be presented a panel of judges who will determine if the Governor May face impeachment. On September 23, 2021, Governor Maulkinkski announced that he would not seek a third term in Office, amid looming Impeachment.[4] On October 3, 2021, Maulkinski was impeached and banned from holding, being appointed or elected to public office.
Resignation[]
Early in the morning on September 26, 2021, Governor Maulkinski announced his resignation as New Shire’s Governor.[5] On September 28, 2021, he left the Governor's mansion followed by claps from those waiting for the day he left office. He was berated by reporters and New Shire residents who called him a "murderous traitor," and "coward."
Jail Sentence[]
On May 29, 2022, after months of investigations into sexual misconduct by Maulkinkski, he was convicted of two counts of sexual misconduct. He was sentenced to 5 years in Jail.[6] On November 13, 2022, Maukinkski's sentence was dismissed, sparking outrage for victims of Sexual Assault, and sparking mass protests across the State.[7] Due to the nature of his role, he was released on recognisance and eventually the charges were dropped against him by Judge Victoria Wallard, who was later beaten to death by Danielle Haywards father.
Death[]
On November 10, 2023, police were called to the North Point home of Maulkinkski after his assistant said he wasn't answering his calls, something that was unusual for the former Governor. He was pronounced dead at 2:02 PM. An investigation into his death is underway and police say his death is considered suspicious at this time.[8]
