Economy[]

Inflation[]

Since taking over as the 45th Governor of New Shire, Rodgers has been hard at work, looking to address the heavy inflation that is facing the state. She is preparing to meet with leaders of both the New Shire Senate and the House Of The People, to work on a solution that will be supported by both parties, and heavily reduce the long-standing and crushing inflation that was only temporarily eased by bills signed by her predecessor, former Governor Thomas Cooke.

Infrastructure[]

2024 Expansion Of Interstate 890[]

On May 11, 2024, her second day into the job, Rodgers signed a J2.9 million dollars spending package to expand Interstate 890, into a four lane highway starting in Towton and extending into downtown Rufus County. She also signed additional legislation to add road signs on both the North and South side of the interstate.

Storm Season[]

New Shire's 2024 Flooding Response[]

On May 17, 2024, Rodgers declared a state of emergency in Rufus, Nimitz and Richardson county ahead of flooding that was expected on May 22, 2024. She continued to watch the storms as she was preparing to dispatch emergency rescue crews. The storms dissipated over Richardson County.

Ahead of the October-February Flooding Season, New Shire Governor Lynn Rodgers issued several executive ordering state emergency response teams to begin implementing the state's emergency response plans that were approved in August ahead of the state's 'true' flooding season.

LGBTQ Community[]

During his first 20 days in office, Rodgers pushed for multi-gender bathrooms in all schools, libraries, colleges, universities and all public buildings. The bill eventually passed, but not one single Republican voted on the bill. The bill effectively mandates that all public buildings must have multi-gender bathrooms. This effectively makes it so that both Men and Women can use the bathrooms.

On July 1, 2024, Rodgers also extended Thomas Cooke's Statewide mandate that all LGBTQ person's can not be questioned on what gender they are when they use either bathroom. This bill effectively resulted in over 20 people being beaten. The law was changed to categorize the violence against those that use either bathroom as a felony hate crime.

During her leadership, she has been an outspoken supporter, just like much of the Nationalist Party, of the LGBTQ community and continues to sign legislation that pushes their ideology onto non-supportive members of the State. This has resulted in protests at schools, stores, universities and other education institutions.

Judicial Reform[]

Rodgers has been a staunch supporter of a freer, safer New Shire, echoing many sentiments about safety from her predecessor, Thomas Cooke, that more violence will continue to plague the state if the Justice System is quickly and effectively reformed to fit the needs of crimes that are destroying cities and neighborhoods.

On May 25, 2024, just weeks after taking office, she drafted six bills that worked to target and curb drug, homicide and sex crimes. All six bills were passed in late June, and these bills effectively reduced the number of homicides by 28%, reduced rapes and sexual assault crime by 42%. The legislation targeted gangs, cartel and other groups who were known to conduct drug operations out of the state.

On September 25, 2024, Rodgers introduced a bill that aimed to target crimes against law enforcement and peace officers, as well as make the death penalty guaranteed for people convicted of killing any member of law enforcement, corrections and all other categories of peace officers. The bill is awaiting a formal vote to push the legislation to the New Shire House Floor. The bill was introduced as HB 2308, and will likely pass with majority support sometime in the next session which isn't scheduled until March 1, 2025.

On December 11, 2022, she announced that on December 16, 2022, her resignation will take effect. She was succeeded by Joshua Smite.

During her time as Press Secretary for President McCallum, Rodgers was seen as a relatively popular press secretary.
