Lewis Berkley(June 15, 1956) is a Jesstopian politician, businessman and current Party President of the Jesstopian Republican Party since 2010. A member of the Republican party since 1985, he previously served as a Senator from Mesa's 25th Congressional District from 1990-2010. Berkley was asked to run the Party after former party president David Aarons retired, following a cancer diagnosis in 2010.
Early Life[]
Berkley was born in Alden, Mesa. His parents Lou and Mary were both politicians who represented Mesa's 25th and 28th Congressional District respectfully. His brothers Nick, Gary and Benjamin, are also all politicians. The family's farm is where all of them got their start. Each day they would study law and would study economics. They eventually went their separate ways, but never lost touch with politics.
Representing Mesa's 25th District(1990-2010)[]
On September 15, 1990, Lewis Berkley was elected to represent Mesa's 25th Congressional District. During the vote phase of his election, several of his opponents initially contested the results. They saw his election as fraud, citing "severe election interference by then Party President David Aarons, who publicly expressed support for Berkley. The Jesstopian Supreme Court struck down that notion.
