Joshua C. Adamson(June 11, 1990) is a Jesstopian Politician who has served as the 20th Governor Of Mesa since 2023. He previously served as the 23rd Lt. Governor Of Mesa from April 16, 2022 until May 9, 2023. He became Mesa's 23rd Lt. Governor on April 16, 2022. He served as acting Governor Of Mesa from October 21, 2022 until October 27, 2022. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Early Life[]
Joshua Adamson was born on June 11, 1990, in Carmichael, Caster County, Mesa. He was born to Father Larry Adamson, and Mother Darla Adamson. He has 4 siblings, including 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He graduated from Carmichael Senior High School.
Personal Life[]
Adamson is married to his Sara Adamson. The two got married in in August of 2019 and together they have two newborn sons. Their personal residence is located Stellashores, Mesa. Adamson enjoys golfing, swimming and playing football with his friends. He has a keen interest in go-karting as well, something he isn't able to do often due to his current role as Governor Of Mesa.
Career[]
Health and Safety Councilmen(2013-2022)[]
Adamson was elected as the director of the Health and Safety Board on June 18, 2013. He served as the Safety and Health Board's President from November 12, 2013 until his appointment as the 23rd Lt. Governor Of Mesa, on April 15, 2022, by Governor Kirk Paul.
Lieutenant Governor(2022-2023)[]
On April 16, 2022, Adamson was sworn in as the 23rd Lt. Governor Of Mesa following the resignation of Joe Haney. He has served in this role since April 16, 2022. On May 9, 2023, Adamson was sworn in as the 20th Governor Of Mesa.
On October 19, 2022, Governor Kirk Paul announced that he would transfer power to him temporarily to focus on his son Matt Paul's health. He is poised to become acting Governor on October 21, 2022.[1]
Acting Governor Of Mesa(2022)[]
On October 21, 2022, Lt. Governor was confirmed as the acting Governor of Mesa. He assumed the role at 9:00 AM on October 21, 2022.[2] He signed his first executive orders on October 22, 2022. He signed 3 executive orders in total. He returned to his duties as Lt. Governor on October 27, 2022.
Governor Of Mesa(2023-Present)[]
On April 25, 2023, Governor Kirk Paul announced that he would be resigning from office on May 9, 2023, after much backlash due to his anti-trans policies that were first released back on April 8, 2023. His resignation marked the start of Adamson's leadership as the state's 20th Governor. He is likely to run for a full term in 2024. On May 9, 2023, Adamson was sworn in as the 20th Governor Of Mesa. He will serve out the remainder of Governor Kirk Paul's term which will expire on November 18, 2024.
Economy[]
Vex Tax Break[]
During his first 30 days in office, Adamson successfully negotiated a major tax break for families making less than 80,000 per year, which helped ease the burden on the hard working middle class. This tax break was known as the Vex Tax Break. The Vex, is a state sponsored process for increasing spending in order to lessen the burden of taxes on low income earning families.
Education[]
In terms of education, Adamson has remained firm on providing safer schools and continuing to spend funding to ensure school safety continues. He has invested over 2.5 billion dollars in school programs, and has worked closely with school districts to ensure that students are receiving nutritional meals across the state, as well as being provided ample fruits and vegetables something that First Honorable Lady Of Mesa Sara Adamson has been advocating for.
On June 15, 2023, it was announced that Mesa was investing in the SafeSchools program, and would invest 200 billion dollars in the program. He has been a strong supporter of a strict curriculum, even as Lieutenant Governor, he supported Governor Kirk Paul's curriculum which invested in Common Core, and ensure that students are meeting the strict requirements.

2023 Lawrence Copper Mine Collapse[]

On July 29, 2023, at around 9:00 PM, a local copper mine, collapsed, trapping 12 and killing 90 workers. Adamson responded by lowering flags to half staff and announcing state funding for recovery efforts. He gave a press conference giving updates on the recovery updates around 11:05 PM.
In response to the collapse, Adamson acquired emergency funding for recovery efforts, but also received additional support from the federal government, who sent aid to the state to use towards recovery teams, food and water, blankets, rubble removal equipment and medical supplies as well. President McCallum sent his best wishes for the state to Governor Adamson just a little after 10:00 PM.
State Governor's from across the country have sent money and supplies to those effected by the collapse. New Shire Governor Thomas Cooke sent over 2.6 million dollars in food and blankets for recovery teams and over 9 million dollars in medical supplies for the survivors. North Lorray Governor Linda Lee also sent over 29 million in heavy machinery and several hundred national guardsmen and women to the State of Mesa, with consent from Governor Adamson. Acacia Governor Harry Richards sent several thousand guardsmen and women to the state, but brought them back after learning their use wasn't necessary.
The Lawrence Copper Mine was announced to be caused by an underground earthquake. The earthquake resulted in the deaths of 25 people, and injured dozens more.
Emergency Response To 2024 Flood Season[]

On January 31, 2024, Adamson issued a State Of Emergency in the Counties Of Alden County, Ashburn County, and Diester County, in response to reports that heavy flooding was expected to hit the state sometime in February. He also issued emergency evacuation orders in these counties.
Evacuation Orders And Threats Of Arrest[]
The evacuation orders have drawn criticism from civil rights groups, due to Adamson's recent announcement of residents being arrested for failing to obey evacuation orders, which was announced on February 1, 2024. He defends his stance on the threat and the Mesa Highway Patrol says it will enforce the temporary order.
Fines For Mesians Who Violate Evacuation Orders[]
On February 2, 2024, Adamson announced that State Law Enforcement would be authorized to fine residents who failed to evacuate their homes as flood season got underway in Mesa. Adamson set the fine amount at J 20,000 dollars, as he hoped that it would deter residents from saying. He is working to make it so state law enforcement can decide whether an arrest or fine is made.
2024 Mesa Water Crisis[]
On August 1, 2024, Adamson was made aware of unsafe levels of lead in drinking water across the state's major water sources, which are major lakes, ocean water, rivers and springs. On August 1, 2024, he issued his fist boil water advisory through executive order 0200146. Continued testing of the water's lead levels continued to rise up until August 18, 2024. When they tested the water on August 19, 2024, tests showed fatal levels of mercury in the water, prompting Governor Adamson to issue an extension to the water boil advisory through executive order 0200148. He then declared a statewide health emergency through executive order 0200149.
Investigation Of Attorney General Wallard[]
On May 17, 2024, Adamson announced that he was ordering an investigation into Attorney General Joshua Wallard for his handling of the Governor Kirk Paul abuse of power case, last year. He is accusing the AG of “failing to uphold his oath” and for not holding a fair and unbiased investigation.”
Adamson is accusing Willard of having previous financial ties to the Paul family and having a strong friendship with the former Governor. The State of Mesa is working to provide funding for an outside investigation.
Suspension Of Attorney General Joshua Wallard[]
On May 17, 2024, the same day that Adamson ordered an investigation into AG Joshua Wallard, he announced that he would be suspending the AG and did so in the afternoon. He said that "he would wait for the results and findings of the investigation." before deciding Wallard's fate. Wallard is currently not prosecuting cases and Assistant Attorney General Matthew Roll is currently heading major investigations. On August 7, 2024, Governor Adamson extended Wallard's suspension pushing his suspension well into 2025.

2021 Gubernatorial Special Election[]
On November 18, 2021, during a special vote, to replace retiring Governor Parker Heaton, he and Kirk Paul were elected the next Governor and Lt. Governor of Mesa. He was sworn in as the next Lt. Governor on November 20, 2021. Paul was sworn in as the 19th Governor of Mesa. He served as Lt. Governor until May 9, 2023, after Kirk Paul resigned amid fallout from his anti-LGBTQ rhetoric that resulted in the deaths of two transgender men.
2024 Gubernatorial Election[]
On May 23, 2023, weeks after succeeding Kirk Paul as the 20th Governor Of Mesa, following Paul's resignation on May 9, 2023, Adamson announced that he was seeking a full term in office and announced he was officially running as the Republican candidate for Governor. He ran a strong campaign while managing other events going on across the state including the Lawrence Copper Mine Collapse, several major and deadly floods. He was formally announced to be the party's front runner and is now the leading candidate for the nomination. On October 19, 2024, he was formally named the winner of the 2024 Mesa Gubernatorial Election, winning his first full term in office. He was sworn in on November 18, 2024 at 9:00 AM. He was sworn in for a first full term.
Nomination[]
On May 27, 2024, it was officially announced that Adamson was the State Republican Nominee for Governor. He made a statement on his personal X account, thanking his supporters and announcing that he looks forward to a first full term. He will face off against Joseph Cooke in September 2024.

2024 Gubernatorial Debate[]
On July 20, 2024, Adamson and Joseph Cooke debated for the first of three 2024 Mesa Gubernatorial Debates. The debate took place at the Porterstown Convention Center. The topics of discussion during the first debate are the inflation, economy, LGBTQ issues, job creation and the use of funding for special programs. The debate began at 10:00 AM and he layed out everything that he has done in his a little more than a year in office.
He hit on his administration's reduction in inflation, something that himself and then-Governor Kirk Paul had been working on to reduce. He continues to address the ongoing inflation. Adamson also laid out his plans to build more housing, ensure home equality, and lower the cost of homes. He says he is looking for ways to help struggling families with payment assistance on electric bills, gas bills and other utility bills as well.

During the second debate, he focused on denouncing the LGBTQ community, citing that they "are free to be who they are and who they want to identify," but said that "there is not place for this madness in schools and children who don't even know what the reproductive organs are. On Social programs, he focused his attention retirement benefits and announcing that he wants to make retirement payments non-taxable. On Diversity and Inclusion, he said that DEI hiring is "dangerous," and said that he doesn't support it.
He also called out how Diversity and Inclusion could lead to the deaths of innocent people, giving examples of unqualified airline pilots, who could cause the deaths of hundreds onboard and on the ground, if the airline industry is hiring solely on diversity means.
He also gave the example of hiring a female police office, because she is simply a women, with no consideration for her actual qualifications. He says this could lead to the death of not only the office, but to anyone who is simply at the scene were the diversity hire is at.
He said that he wouldn't support DEI and says that as long as he is Governor, no police officer or airline pilot would be hired simply for diversity sake. He says "it is a bad idea," and "businesses and airlines," will lose major customers if they head that way.
