Gretchen Christine Bershaw(September 17, 1967 - January 30, 2022) was a Jesstopian Politician who served as the 22nd Lt. Governor Of New Shire from 2021 to 2022. She has served as a Representative of the 61st District of New Shire State. She has worked to create equal rights for both men and women. She has defended women’s rights throughout career. She was an key player in creating policies which help increase penalties on company’s who failed to fairly pay women compared to that of their male counterparts performing the same duties.

Early Life and Education[]

Gretchen C. Bershaw was born on September 17,1967 in Little Rock, New Shire. She grew up and a single level 5 room trailer where she lived with her Father Frank Grover, Mother Lisa Grover, Brothers Ken, Andrew and Ronald Grover and dog Fidel. Throughout her childhood, Gretchen was known as a fair, kind spirited individual who never let anyone be left out of an event or activity in which she was taking part in. She was very well known throughout her community as a hard worker, kind volunteer, and a fierce competitor. She grew up in the same home for the next 20 years of her life.

Over her entire childhood, Gretchen enjoyed reading, writing and listening to music. She was the highest averaging student in her class of 2,800 peers. Gretchen Attended Brock County Central School District where she graduated as the Valedictorian of her class. Upon graduating from Brock CSD, she went on to peruse a 9 year degree to earn her PhD in foreign and economic affairs. This would become a defining moment in her life as the moment that she began her career in politics.

Personal Life[]

Gretchen Bershaw has 4 children. Her four sons, Parker Bershaw, Levi Bershaw, Brayden Bershaw and Seth Bershaw. She had served as the class President of the Class Of 1984 which she served from 1980-1984. Bershaw died on January 30, 2022, after a gunman opened fire into a group of people, where Bershaw was struck and killed by a stray bullet.[1]

Lieutenant Governor[]

On September 27, 2021, then-Incoming Governor, Thomas Cooke appointed Mrs. Gretchen Bershaw as his Lieutenant, which she then became the 22nd Lt Governor of New Shire. She has worked closely with the Governor and has become well known in the LGBTQ community. Her term ended on January 30, 2022, following her death after a gunman opened fired into a group of people at a bar Bershaw was a patron at.

Death[]

On January 30, 2022, while attending a birthday party at a bar, a gunman opened fire on the bar striking Bershaw in the back and head. She died on scene. The shooting was not a coordinated attack, and it appears the shooting of the Lt. Governor was coincidental.
