The Governor Of Mesa is responsible for the daily operations of the Great State Of Mesa. The Governor is also responsible for running and maintaining the State's Economic System, Health System, and Education System, enforcing state laws, issuing executive orders, memorandums and proclamations. He works alongside a team of members in the Governor's Administration to make executive decisions, sign executive orders and sign legislation into law.

Governor Of Mesa[]

The Current Governor of Mesa is Joshua Adamson. He succeeded Kirk Paul following his resignation on May 9, 2023. Adamson served as the Lt. Governor Of Mesa from November 20, 2021 until May 9, 2023, when he was sworn in as the State's 20th Governor. Gregory Brentwood was sworn in as the State's 24th Lt. Governor.

The Governor is responsible for executing and enforcing state laws, ensuring state safety, signing bills, laws, and has the responsibility of signing executive orders, memorandums and proclamations. The Governor's role also enables the officeholder to grant pardons and commutations of crimes and jail or prison terms.

Terms[]

A Gubernatorial term is currently 2 years with no limit to how many times a candidate can be elected to the office. On August 4, 2022, the Mesa Assembly voted to extend the terms to 4 years, renewable once. These extended terms will first be used on October 18, 2026, when the state seeks to elect its governor.[1]

If Joshua Adamson wins election in 2024, and seeks election in 2026, his terms serve will reset and will be allowed to seek office for 8 more years in 2026 and 2030. If he loses is 2024, he will still be eligible for two more terms in any election.

Current Lieutenant Governor[]

The current Lt. Governor Of Mesa is Gregory Brentwood who has served as the 24th Lt. Governor since 2023. The Lt. Governor Of Mesa ultimately serves as the second in command of the state and will succeed the Governor if said Governor resigns or dies while in office. The Lt. Governor becomes acting Governor if the Governor becomes incapacitated or is out of state for any reason.
