The 2024 Jesstopian Withdrawal From Ukraine is an organized, military withdrawal from Ukraine that started on September 1, 2024. The withdrawal is happening in three phases, each were laid out to President John McCallum. The withdrawal began with the removal of Jesstopian civilian workers, embassy workers and other Jesstopian nationals. The dates in which these individuals will be removed are not being provided. The second phase of the withdrawal will be to remove non-essential military equipment, vehicles, food and water. The third phase involves air support and the formal withdrawal of Troops from Ukraine.
History[]
The withdrawal from Ukraine was proposed by Jesstopian President John McCallum on April 6, 2024 to a joint chief of staff's meeting. This obviously was done under wraps to ensure that no information was leaked from the Nationalist House. A vote from the cabinet was held and a majority of the cabinet agreed that the United States Of Jesstopia needed to leave Ukraine, and look to sign a peace treaty with Russia, and formally end the war with Russia.
On July 28, 2024, President McCallum announced that the United States Of Jesstopia would be withdrawing from Ukraine due to its failure to follow the financial agreements it made with the United States Of Jesstopia back in 2022. It also withdrew due to the stagnatic nature of Ukraine's battle strategy. Congress agreed that the withdrawal needed to happen, but said it was looking to safely withdraw the troops from Ukraine so that another "US Withdrawal From Afghanistan" doesn't happen.
Withdrawal[]
The withdrawal will happen in three phases. The withdrawal began on September 1, 2024, with the removal of Jesstopian civilian employees, Jesstopian nationals, as well as Jesstopian citizens visiting Ukraine. There is a nationwide directive to prevent Jesstopian citizens from returning to Ukraine. Over 1,300 civilians, civilian employees and Jesstopian nationals were removed from the country early this morning, and continues throughout the day.
The second phase of the withdrawal began on September 15, 2024, a week behind schedule, but officials in Jesstopia say that they will make up time as the next 5-7 months will focus on strategically removing troops from different areas of Ukraine. The process, according to officials is scheduled to conclude sometime in April or May 2025.
The third and final phase of the full military withdrawal from Ukraine officially begin on October 15, 2024, just a day after it was scheduled to start. Troops are slowly being removed from Ukraine and being flown back to the United States Of Jesstopia. Against previous estimates, the process is scheduled to conclude sometime in late February early March 2025.
The withdrawal was completed on January 2, 2025, with the final Jesstopian troops leaving Ukraine via plane. President Jay Laylin confirmed that no other troops remained in Ukraine via X and a press statement.
Reaction[]
The reactions have been mixed around the United States Of Jesstopia and around the world. Cambridge Prime Minister Fredrick Ricketts says that it will be detrimental to Ukraine and Jesstopia if it continues to pull troops but said that he "respects President McCallm's decision."
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the move a "smart decision on behalf of the United States Of Jesstopia." He went on to say that "it was working with Jesstopian officials to formally end its war with it." Putin has expressed that he would cooperate with the efforts to remove Jesstopian civilians and troops from Ukraine and has agreed to not harm a Jesstopian during the withdrawal process.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked Jesstopian Officials to keep troops in Ukraine for another, and frantically issued that it would pay back all of the money it owes Jesstopia. President McCallum said that he would not keep troops in Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden said that it would be disastrous to pull Jesstopian troops from Ukraine amid the most heated part of the war. "It would be a disaster to remove troops from Ukraine, and I urge President McCallum to keep troops in Ukraine."
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also issued the same sentiment as Joe Biden. "We must stand by our allies as they are in the midst of a brutal war with Russia." He called on John McCallum to reconsider his decision before the September 1, 2024, planned withdrawal.
