NEWS 28 - Former North Lorray Governor Tegan O'Reilly has died at the age of 69, his family confirmed in an X post. Governor O'Reilly served as North Lorray's 19th Governor from 2016 to 2019.
"We are saddened to have to announce the passing of our father and the patriarch of our family, Tegan O'Reilly," read to X post. "He died peacefully surrounded by family. Our hearts are broken today, and we ask for our privacy as we mourn his loss."
The family issued that he had been suffering from Pneumonia for the past three weeks, prior to his death. They said that he was happy at the very end and that they were grateful that they were able to spend one final Christmas with their dad.
"He was an incredible leader who served this great state with poise and grace," said Governor Linda Lee. "He will be missed by his family, friends and anyone who was honored enough to get to know and meet him. Thank you Governor O'Reilly for the service you gave to this great state. May you rest in peace."
A private memorial and burial service will take place at the need of the family. He is expected to get National Guard honors, authorized by Governor Linda Lee.
