ALDEN - Former Mesa Governor Parker Heaton had died on October 1, 2022, and his burial has taken place without the official autopsy report being released. The Official report was released early this morning and his official cause of death has been announced.

According to the Coroner's report, Heaton died from complications of COVID-19. According to the reports it was also complicated by a minor cold. He was 57 at the time of his death and was otherwise, relatively healthy.

The Governor's official cause of death was deemed "COVID-19".

ALDEN - Early this evening, Mesa Governor Parker Heaton established a scholarship fund in honor of the Late Governor Parker Heaton, and for his dedication to lifelong service.

"I am very pleased to announce, that we have established the Parker Heaton Memorial Scholarship, which offers hard-working students to receive a state-funded college experience in their respective fields, who show great dedication and hard work in school," said Governor Paul. "As how Heaton served and dedicated himself to Mesa, the award goes to those who work to better themselves and who are dedicated to their school work. The scholarship grants up to J15,000/semester to students who plan on attending a 2/4 year college."

The scholarship applications will be open on November 1, 2022, and will continue to accept applications for the scholarship.

ALDEN- Former Governor Parker Heaton's body has left his home town and is on his way to the Governor's Mansion where the funeral will take place. The funeral will start at 2:30 PM. He is expected to be interred at 3:45 PM.

Alden Avenue, is officially closed and any person's are asked to take back roads to get to their destinations. Roads are expected to reopen after 5:00 PM tonight. The Mesa Highway Patrol is expected to remain along Alden Ave.

NEWS 28 - The Mesa Highway Patrol is preparing for the funeral of former Mesa Governor Parker Heaton's funeral and procession. According to the MHP, they are going to begin preparing road blocks on major side streets that lead to Alden Avenue, the main stretch of road leading to the Governor's Mansion and the State capital.

"Troopers will be stationed at major access and side roads that lead to Alden Avenue," said Commissioner Donaldson. "We are going to release a map of roads that will be blocked, and areas to avoid. We do ask residents to be mindful of roads they are driving on."

The funeral procession is expected to begin at 2:00 PM, with Heaton's casket arriving at the Governor's Mansion by 1:30 PM. The burial will be done privately by the family, and high level security will be around the venue to ensure complete privacy of the family as they say their final goodbyes.

Governor Paul said that he will speak at the funeral, honoring his predecessor and paying his respects to the late Governor. Lt. Governor Adamson will not attend the funeral due to meetings scheduled during the funeral.

The Mesa Highway Patrol will be at the event as security, and Governor Kirk Paul has directed the Highway Patrol to provide security at the funeral. He also directed them to guard Heaton's body and to ensure no unauthorized access to the funeral is committed.

ALDEN - With former Governor Parker Heaton's funeral days away, traffic is being redirected to different areas of the State to allow a smooth State funeral process. Furthermore, plans have been set in place to ensure that the funeral runs smoothly. Expect a heavy police presence after the next few days.

"We are asking Mesians to avoid downtown Alden as the funeral procession will pass through the main stretch of Alden Avenue," said Governor Paul. "The Highway Patrol will redirect travel."

The Mesa Highway Patrol is expected to block off side streets that run off of Alden Avenue and will turn cars around in conflicting areas.

Jesstopian News - Former Mesa Governor, Parker Heaton, died unexpectedly at the age of 57 yesterday. According to family, Heaton wasn't feeling well the night before he died. An autopsy was performed on the former Governor and according to the coroner's report, he died from a brain anuerysm, which progressed over the course of the last 2 months.

A memorial service and state funeral will be held for the late Governor on Friday, October 7, 2022 with his body laying in state on Thursday until the funeral at 9:00 AM on Friday. He will receive a full state funeral.

ALDEN - According to official sources, and sources close to the late Parker Heaton, have announced that the former Governor's funeral will take place on Friday, October 7, 2022. The State of Mesa has authorized planning of the State Funeral and subequent activities.

"We are going to ensure that Gov. Heaton receives the highest honors in our state, for his long and dedicated service to the State and the Mesians," said Gov. Paul. "We are thankful for Heaton's unmatched kindness and leadership for all 7 years as our state's Governor."

President McCallum has expressed his sympathies for the late Heaton.

"Heaton led his State in a faithful, gracious, and fair manner. He loved the State of Mesa, and when he was Governor, he expressed to me that he wanted more funding for the State," said President McCallum. "He was definitely a true leader, and at this point, we need to honor this incredible man's life and legacy."

The Funeral will be open to the members of the family as well as some press, that will be required to cover the funeral from a remote location and via cameras.

JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - Parker Heaton, who served 3 terms in office, died unexpectedly on Saturday, after fighting a brief illness according to his family. He was 57.

According to several 911 reports, the paramedics on scene attempted to resuscitate the former Governor, but were unsuccessful. According to the medical teams at the hospital, he appeared to have an illness. An official cause of death is expected to be revealed sometime this evening.

"We are saddened to hear about the passing of former Governor Parker Heaton," said Gov. Paul. "I have ordered ALL State and Jesstopian flags to half staff and mourning colors until the day of his internment. Flags on all Government and public facilities are required to lower and change flags."

The State has also authorized a state funeral for the former Governor and planning is underway.

Outgoing Governor Of Mesa, Parker Heaton released his farewell address hours before his term expires, Kirk Paul is sworn in as the State's 19th Governor.

In his address, he thanked everyone who helped get the state on track to future economic success. He also outlined some accomplishments of the Heaton Administration, including Economic, Health and Educational Achievements.

He said that it "has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your Governor." he continued by stating that his time in office had allowed for great memories to be made that would last a lifetime.

On November 17, 2021 at 12:00 PM, Early voting will start for voters eligible for early voting or who may be unable to go out and vote on November 18, 2021.

The State Of Mesa is preparing early online vote ballots and only two candidates will be available on the ballot. Rhonda Bushall(N) and Kirk Paul(R). There will be no secondary candidates for State Attorney General until election day 2024.

Governor Heaton requested back in August of this year to hold an earlier Gubernatorial Election, in order to retire. The Governor’s decision to step down and host an earlier election is very unique to the State’s history and is a commendable thing for the Governor to do.

”I would like to resign in order to focus on other interests and enjoy retirement.” Said Heaton. “There are no other motives for me doing so.”

The Governor whose term expires on November 18, 2022, requested that a Early Election be hosted on November 18, 2021. Heaton’s last day will be December 10, 2021, when a new Governor is sworn in.

”I don’t ever want to give it 50%. I’ve always strived and will continue to strive for 100%,” explained Heaton. “Lately I have been unable to do just that. I’ve worked hard for the great citizens of the State. I think my passion lies else where and I want someone who’ll be able to lead this great state at full force.” He concluded.

The State’s Attorney General’s Office said in a Statement that Heaton has served the state well and in the end his decision to step down will allow the Great State of Mesa to move ever forward.

The Great State Of Mesa Will Be Hosting Its 2021 Gubernatorial Election On November 18, 2021 following a request of Incumbent Governor Parker Heatons Request To Formally Resign As The State's Governor To Go Into Retirement and "Focus on other interests."

The Elections Will Be Held On November 18, 2021 And Early Voting will be held the day prior on November 17, 2021.

Early Voting will commence on Nov 17 at 12 PM and will conclude at 10 PM. The regular voting session will commence on Nov 18 at 7 AM and conclude at 11 PM.
