NEWS 28 - Former Vice President Richard Banks was seriously injured in a fall early this afternoon. The 53 year old was reportedly working in his garden which is elevated by 3ft when he fell. The cause of the fall is lot known at this time. The former Vice President was rushed to Morressy Medical Center where he is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.

A publicist for the former vice president said that he was conscious but sustained severe injuries to his neck, back and head. He said that he hit the ground ‘very hard’. The publicist did not say if Banks lost his balanced or if any other medical condition contributed to the fall. He was rushed to Morressy Medical Center in Nox City, his preferred hospital.

”Former Vice President Richard Banks has sustained severe injuries after taking a fall at his private Wilshire, New Shire home,” said a statement from his publishing company. “We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide an update as they become available.”

Former President John McCallum issued a statement on his personal X account wishing him well and quick recovery.

”I hope former Vice President Banks gets well and quickly recovers. He is in Amber and I’s prayers at this time.” Read the tweet.

Former Vice President Travis Loretti also issued a statement of support to Banks following his fall. Loretti and Banks had a close relationship prior to Banks’ tenure as the 2nd Vice President.

“Ariel and I are praying for a quick recovery for @rbanks2 and hope he fully recovers from his injuries.”

Banks’ doctors say he should recover but will be a lengthy recovery given his age and the types of injuries he sustained, those injuries have not been disclosed by the Hospital. A spokesperson for the hospital said that Banks’ personal details would not be discussed further and that all questions related to his health should be referred to him or his spokesperson.

”I will not comment nor will any Morressy staff member or doctor discuss his health with the media at this time,” said the spokesperson. “He is still a patient and has rights and privacy that we must respect. Any further comments or questions should be referred to him or his authorized spokesperson. I will not make any further update on his health and diagnosis. That’s up to him to release.”

On February 1, 2025, Vice President Cole Bindle spoke with dock workers at Nox City's Port, where he discussed the brand new tariffs, job protection, and deportation efforts. He also touched on what the Laylin administration is doing to protect the safety of dock workers.

NEWS 28 - Vice President Bindle was in Nox City, North Lorray, where he spoke with dock workers about the Laylin administrations efforts at curbing mass illegal entries at ports of entry, including one of Jesstopia's largest ports, Nox City. He briefly touched on what the Laylin administration was doing to ensure dock work safety, after an illegal was arrested in 2023, for stabbing several dock workers to death before heading into the United States Of Jesstopia, before they were arrested and deported.

In his speech he said that the Office Of Immigration And Customs, would begin ramping up 24/7 patrols of the Nox City seascape. He also issued that the Laylin administration would continue to promote deportation efforts at docks and other ports of entry.

"It is highly important that Jesstopian dock workers are protected from attacks of illegals immigrants who have in the past used this port as a way to enter the country illegally," said Vice President Cole Bindle. "That time has come to an end, and now we are shifting our focus on preventing them from entering this port, harming innocent Jesstopian dock workers and removing them from our country. "They told me that they've seen armed immigrants climb the ladders and run towards the city. That should never be tolerated and now that real leadership is in charge we can now say that it won't continue much longer. We are rounding thousands of illegals a day and we aren't done."

Bindle then went on to discuss the tariffs that he says the liberals are using to scare port workers about the false narrative that foreign tariffs on China, Colombia, Mexico and Russia will threaten their jobs. He denounced the sentiment.

"While liberals and the Nationalist Party have continued to scare many of the workers, who asked me to promise that they won't lose their jobs, Republicans are working to ensure that even more jobs are created for the people of this country," proclaimed Bindle. "You don't have to worry about your jobs. As we continue to push to have Jesstopian made products exported to other countries, who abuse our trade relationship, forcing Jesstopia's government to spend and invest more on foreign made goods than they spend on Jesstopian made goods. JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - President-Elect Jay Laylin's motorcade took bullets as it traveled down West Nox City Boulevard. Luckily, and by the grace of god, Laylin was not struck and the bullet didn't enter the interior of his limo. The shooter was shot and killed by PPS agents. Here's what we know so far.

But as of now, what we know so far, is that the shooter has been killed. Presidential Protective Service agents quickly identified the shooter and took appropriate action to eliminate the threat against Jay Laylin. Additionally, the gunman appears to have acted alone, and no other credible threats were found at the site of the shooting.

North Lorray Governor Linda Lee has condemned the violence against Jay Laylin, citing "the need for stronger gun control measures across the state and the entire country." Lee announced plans to ramp up presidential security when presidential candidates, presidential-elects and presidents visit the state.

New Shire Governor Lynn Rodgers expressed her anger at the attack on Jay Laylin and condemned the violence and this statement.

"What was perpetrated against President-Elect Jay Laylin yesterday, is unacceptable, undemocratic and un-Jesstopia," said Governor Rodgers. "This country is a place where anyone from any corner of the world can prosper. It shouldn't matter what political our opponents are, we are still human beings, who should have respect for one another. My heart is full knowing that Laylin was not harmed in the shooting and we pray that this never happens again."

Mesa Governor Joshua Adamson responded to the shooting by calling the President-Elect, whom he has a strong friendship with and asked how him and his family were doing. He released the following statement on his personal and Governor's office X account.

"What was perpetrated against President-Elect Jay Laylin, is a testament of the threats that still exist around this country, to leaders and future leaders of this country," wrote Adamson. "We can not move the country in this direction. We must tolerate our differences and political ideology and respect that we all have the right to believe what we want. Jay Laylin is no different."

NEWS 28 - Just just hours after a shooter opened fire on Jay Laylin's motorcade in downtown motorcade, Presidential Protective Service investigators say they are still searching for answers as to why and how a gunman went unnoticed for so long. Congressional leaders are also launching their own investigations including the Senate Committee On Assassination Attempts, and the House Judicial Committee On Presidential Assassination Attempts.

But as of now, what we know so far, is that the shooter has been killed. NEWS 28 - Presidential candidates Thomas Cooke and Jay Laylin participate in final presidential debate on Saturday ahead of election day which is scheduled to be held on October 16. Both candidates laid out their plans to reduce taxes, address illegal immigration and address concerns over abortions in the country.

Both candidates began answering questions, taking turns attacking one each other on each topic. Laylin has said that abortion shouldn't be allowed after 15 weeks, where as Thomas Cooke believes that abortion should be readily available to women at any point in the pregnancy.

"I believe that a women's right to life as well as the baby's is equally important, therefore I will introduce a law that requires abortion clinics across the country to perform the procedure before 15 weeks, after which any procedure to kill a baby becomes illegal," said Jay Laylin. "I believe women should choose what they do with their bodies, but we must also protect the rights of the baby."

Thomas Cooke went on the attack, claiming that Laylin's law would ultimately put the mom's life at risk if she can't have an abortion at any point after the 15 week period.

"Jay Laylin is looking to make abortions illegal after the 15 week period, but a women's body could be in more danger after that time," said Thomas Cooke. "I am proposing an unrestricted abortion time frame, to allow a mother and doctor to determine what's best for her. I don't think us men should get to decide what she does with her body and how she advocates for her health."

Both candidates also addresses comments about the illegal immigration that the Nationalists have had trouble managing. According to reports, about 26% arrests at the border are illegal migrants trying to enter illegally, even with the border shutdown.

"To address the ongoing illegal immigration problem that our country faces, we must work to close the border, deport more people than have been under this current administration and sign extensive legislation, granting overwhelming power to arrest illegal immigrants," said Laylin. "Under the currently administration, 1.6 million illegals have been allowed to enter our country, through our six main ports of entry, and 25 border crossings. We must have stronger policies allowing the Jesstopian Border Protection Agency to actually do their jobs."

Thomas Cooke said that the border crossings need to end, and that he would institute a specific Illegal border crossing task force. He was criticized by Laylin who believes that that idea is mute, as the Jesstopia Border Protection Agency should be able to do their jobs with restrictive policies in place, set in place by President John McCallum.

"Thomas Cooke wants to implement a illegal border crossing task force, using up more tax payer money, to do the job that the Jesstopian Border protection agency is already paid to do," explained Laylin. "That is just mind blowing. Who thought that an agency created specific to protect our nation's borders, would need a task force to do its job. Thomas Cooke has no plans to protect Jesstopians from illegal aliens. We must not allow him to run our borders."

Both candidates were finally asked about the high taxes that are killing Jesstopia worker paychecks, forcing many of them to budget money for basic supplies over healthier food options. Both candidate were asked how they would work to lower the high taxes that the Jesstopian public are finding unbearable.

"There are many factors that affect how much a government or organization can tax. Many people know about supply and demand, which generally lowers or increases the amount a good or service costs as well as how much tax is issued for a specific good. The second is inflation," said Jay Laylin. "If we want to lower taxes and the amount that each family pays, we need to address high inflation. That is job number one. Job number two is to stop reckless government spending, which runs rampant when unchecked. We must issue that Congress can not spend more than our GDP, and ensure that any reckless spending that is spent, is paid back almost immediately."

Thomas Cooke rebutted, with a tax plan that many experts say makes no sense.

"To address high taxes, we must lower the costs of everyday goods," said Cooke. "By lowering the cost of goods, and providing more rebates on goods, we can artificially lower taxes. I agree with Jay Laylin on that we must end reckless government spending."

Both candidates finally shook hands before the debate ended and Jay Laylin gave the final message to Jesstopia voters.

"If you want to struggle everyday, financially and in terms of putting food on your table, vote in Thomas Cooke," said Laylin. "If you want to live in a freer, more affordable Jesstopia, vote for me. The different is clear and we must work to better our great country. Cooke and the Nationalists have destroyed this country for far too long and its time to take back our country."

NEWS 28 - President John McCallum's Nox City Mansion was swarmed by police and PPS agents after a woman opened fire around the President's home. PPS agents were able to safely apprehend the shooter.

The shooter, now identified as 32 year old Sharon Mallory, was apprehended by police who tackled her to the ground after finding her with an Glock 19. She was arrested by the Presidential Protective Service who says that she appeared to be in mental distress at the time of the shooting.

Governor Linda Lee addressed the situation through the Governor's website, with the following statement.

"I am very concerned about the safety of President John McCallum and his family, today, as we learn more details of the shooter who was firing of rounds near the house of the President. We are looking into this incident and are working closely with city, state and federal officials to uncover why this women was allowed to fire off shots so close to the President's home. Nox City Police Department have issued that they will increase patrols around his house and neighborhood," said Governor Lee. "As of now, PPS and Nox City PD don't believe this was an attempt on the life of the President. They do believe that the shooter was drunk, and had been experiencing a mental health crisis. She was arrested for "Unlawful Discharge Of A Fire Arm," and for "Unlicensed Carry Of A Firearm Or Projectile Device." As of right now, however, investigators want to know how she was able to get close to the home of the President, and how PPS, were not able to catch her at the main entrance of the neighborhood."

The Presidential Protective Service, has not released any public information about their ongoing investigation, but did confirm that President McCallum and his family weren't home at the time. An ongoing investigation is currently ongoing.

"As of now, PPS and Nox City PD don't believe this was an attempt on the life of the President. They do believe that the shooter was drunk, and had been experiencing a mental health crisis. She was arrested for "Unlawful Discharge Of A Fire Arm," and for "Unlicensed Carry Of A Firearm Or Projectile Device." As of right now, however, investigators want to know how she was able to get close to the home of the President, and how PPS, were not able to catch her at the main entrance of the neighborhood."

The Presidential Protective Service, has not released any public information about their ongoing investigation, but did confirm that President McCallum and his family weren't home at the time. An ongoing investigation is currently ongoing.

NEWS 28 - Nox City Mayor Tom Brosnik has announced that he is running for Congress, more specifically for the Senate to oust incumbent Senator Joey Rigg. Brosnik has repeatedly said that Rigg has "failed to secure financial stability" for Nox City and called him a "failed Senator."

Mayor Brosnik has served as Mayor since 2022 and won reelection in 2024 to the office, but he has said that he wants to do more for the city, and said he can only accomplish that by winning a seat in Congress.

"I have been humbled to serve as Nox City's mayor, a city that is my home and a city that I love," said Brosnik. "But there is so much more that I can be doing for the city as a Congressman. That is why today that I am formally announcing my candidacy to replace the very "failed Senator" Joey Rigg. I will work hard and will be proud to represent Nox City's 5 Congressional District and North Lorray as it's Senator."

The Mayor's office has not responded to our request for comment, but city residents say they are angry that so soon after being re-elected Mayor, he is just going to announce his run for Congress.

"You know, he could have been transparent up front and said that he wanted to seek a Congressional seat," said a loyal Brosnik supporter. "The very fact that he chose to announce it after winning the office for a second term. It is just disappointing."

President McCallum is scheduled to speak with Nox City officials and North Lorray Governor Linda Lee on Thursday about the Nox City Pipeline.

NEWS 28 - President John McCallum is making his final visit to Nox City as President, to discuss the ongoing oil pipeline crisis that Nox City is going through. The President will be in Nox City for the next week. He is expected to meet up with Nox City Mayor Tom Brosnik and North Lorray Governor Linda Lee, who will all discuss the pipelines future.

"The Nox City oil pipeline is an important piece of infrastructure to the United States Of Jesstopia, and without our country will pay astronomical prices of oil imports," said President McCallum. "The future of our country's oil industry rides on his pipeline. We need to find an adequate solution to the problem, before our country is paying top dollar for an essential compound, oil."

The meetings will take place over three meetings and throughout the one week that he will be in North Lorray. The meeting will also include Federal officials including Department of Interior officials, Jesstopian Environmental Protection Agency, and several major oil companies. These meetings will work to establish a strong agreement between the landowners, oil companies and federal officials to pump Jesstopian oil and lower the cost of fuel for consumers.

"We look forward to working with President McCallum to establish a strong agreement between both oil executives, and our state to ensure that we can provide cheap gas for consumers well into the future," said Governor Linda Lee. "As President McCallum has said, this pipeline plays a key role not only to the North Lorray's economy, but to the federal economy as well and we must protect this valuable asset."

The oil executives that will be involved in the talks include BestOil, ChargeOil Corp, and Babbit, Cobbs and Davis Oil Industries. They will negotiate for the pipeline to be handed over to them, in return, agreeing to work with the federal government, who will regulate the oil that is pulled from the pipeline.

President McCallum Addresses Nox City At City Hall On December 2, 2023

RUFUS - President McCallum has finally traveled to Nox City, the epicenter of last week's bombing which killed 20. According to the Nationalist House, President McCallum was going to meet with Governor Linda Lee during the speech, but she was pulled away from the Capital to work on addressing an emergency tornado watch in Ulster County, North Lorray, which is part of mainland North Lorray.

The President was forced to give a speech alone, something he had hoped to do with Governor Linda Lee. The President expressed his concerns for the safety of city residents and promised to give more federal aid to the city to help rebuild and focus his resources on catching the bomber.

"This city has already been through so much and it is now time to focus on healing and bringing the terrorist to justice," said President McCallum. "Our nation was attacked, yet again, and we continue to find answers. My heavy heart hurts for the families of all twenty victims of this heinous and terroristic crime. We will not stop until the perpetrators are brought to justice in a swift and meaningful way."

The President continued to promise justice as he finished off his speech. President McCallum issued that city residents should stay vigilant as investigators are still working to collect hundreds of articles of evidence.

"Please remember, the 1500 block of Comcast Blvd and Admiral Street are still closed to the public as investigators continue to collect evidence," continued the President. "Let the investigators do their jobs, and help them out by not going near the 1500 block until further notice."

He also continued to urge investigators to find any leads that would potentially lead to an arrest. He said he is pushing the death penalty on the suspect or suspects. The Nationalist House expressed support for the death penalty for the suspected terrorist. The Nationalist House has not made any further statement.
