NEWS 28 - Nox City Mayor Tom Brosnik has announced that he is running for Congress, more specifically for the Senate to oust incumbent Senator Joey Rigg. Brosnik has repeatedly said that Rigg has "failed to secure financial stability" for Nox City and called him a "failed Senator."
Mayor Brosnik has served as Mayor since 2022 and won reelection in 2024 to the office, but he has said that he wants to do more for the city, and said he can only accomplish that by winning a seat in Congress.
"I have been humbled to serve as Nox City's mayor, a city that is my home and a city that I love," said Brosnik. "But there is so much more that I can be doing for the city as a Congressman. That is why today that I am formally announcing my candidacy to replace the very "failed Senator" Joey Rigg. I will work hard and will be proud to represent Nox City's 5 Congressional District and North Lorray as it's Senator."
The Mayor's office has not responded to our request for comment, but city residents say they are angry that so soon after being re-elected Mayor, he is just going to announce his run for Congress.
"You know, he could have been transparent up front and said that he wanted to seek a Congressional seat," said a loyal Brosnik supporter. "The very fact that he chose to announce it after winning the office for a second term. It is just disappointing."
"I want to serve this city in a much larger capacity, one that will allow me to do more for the great people of the city and our state, including advocating for more healthcare programs, cheaper insurance rates and lowering the cost of living through out North Lorray," continued Thomas Brosnik. "We are suffering under from high inflation rates, and our current Senator is not doing anything to bring these burdens down. Governor Linda Lee and I have worked tirelessly to signed bills to ease that burden, but they federal government needs to do its part, something that Senator Rigg is not currently up to doing."
The BrosnikForCongress.com website has been collecting money for his campaign and as of now they have raised over 5 million dollars, receiving contributions from big city businessman and women, politicians including a 1 million dollar contribution from Governor Linda Lee and and 2 Million dollar contribution from President John McCallum.
