NEWS 28 - Senator Joey Rigg has announced that he will be seeking election as the 22nd Governor Of North Lorray, hoping to defeat incumbent Linda Lee who has served since 2022 as the 21st and very first female governor of North Lorray since 2022.

Joey Rigg is facing serious charges of sexual abuse and misconduct, which led to his forced withdrawal from the 2025 Senate race. He has publicly and privately maintained his innocence saying that it was orchestrated to derail "my political career." Rigg has not yet been convicted, but he was forced to step away from the Senate at the end of his current term, in a deal with Senate leadership.

"As disappointing is my forced hand in terms of my Senate career, I look forward to moving forward with my political career. I have always been about the people, for the people and serving the great people of North Lorray has been the forefront to which I built my political career," said Senator Joey Rigg. "That is why today I announce, proudly, that I am seeking to defeat Governor Linda Lee and be elected as the 22nd Governor Of North Lorray for the first ever four year term of North Lorray. We need real change here in the North Lorray, and my state has been under attack from liberalism and Republicans and Conservatives being targeted for disagreeing with the LGBTQ community, more specifically the transgender community. We must restore the values of our state, and ensure that the state recognizes only two genders as male and female are the only biological genders that a person can have. Rigg isn't disqualified from running for office, but it is heavily likely that the Republican party will put up stronger candidates to pit against Linda Lee who has served as the 21st Governor Of North Lorray since 2022. NEWS 28 - North Lorray Governor Linda Lee says she would support federal deportation efforts after weeks of saying she would fight deportations by the Laylin administration. Further, she says she would block legislation that supports blocking such efforts.

Governor Linda Lee has said that she wouldn't propose or sign any legislation working to undermine federal officials from deporting illegals from the country, and more directly the State of North Lorray. This comes just weeks after she announced that she would attempt to block any efforts to remove illegals from North Lorray.

"I think it has come to light, that President Laylin is serious about removing those who wish to do us harm, including illegals from all around the world," said Governor Linda Lee. "Since taking over office last month, millions have been removed from this country, and his efforts have proven to make Jesstopian streets safer again. I believe it is time we work together to ensure bipartisan support in ensuring that our beautiful country remains safe. We must uphold our duties of elected officials and remove those who don't belong here, even if that means supporting efforts from our opposing party."

Laylin administration officials' including Vice President Cole Bindle says that Governor Linda Lee would have no choice but to cooperate as deportations of illegals falls under the powers of the President and not governors. He says she is just trying to make her and her party seem appealing as Senate and House elections take place in less than a year from now.

"Is she kidding. Really?," said Vice President Cole Bindle. "She has no choice but to cooperate with federal deportation efforts. She can't say the federal government has not jurisdiction here. We do and always will. We will carry out deportations if necessary and will arrest any Governor that gets in our way. She is trying to make her party more appealing, conveniently before the 2025 Congressional elections taking place in less than a year from now."

The North Lorray Board Of Prisons says they can't afford to hold illegals in the prisons, citing over 2.6 million illegals are already detained in there prisons. It is likely that by supporting deportation efforts, they will be able to open up more cells for Jesstopian prisoners, relieving the strain on prisons across the state.

NEWS 28 - North Lorray Governor and avid Thomas Cooke support Linda Lee says that Jay Laylin can't win the Nationalist House on October 16. She says that the 'rights of all people' should be respected by the law and government and more so the Republican party. She says that she is hopeful that Nationalists will rally behind Thomas Cooke.

She voiced her concerns ahead of the presidential election which is slated to take place in 11 days. She said by allowing Republicans to take control of the Nationalist House, rights will be placed on the 'back burner of political discourse."

"We know how important being free to express yourself is and that just becomes a threat to Republicans, who will not hesitate to take you rights away," said Governor Lee. "We will not and should not let this be the case. Jesstopians shouldn't be threatened for feeling you are in the wrong body and choosing to have gender reaffirming care."

She went on to call for Nationalists to rally behind Thomas Cooke to ensure the Nationalist Party retain the Nationalist House. She pointed to the lack of morals and ethics of the Republican Party, citing Joey Riggs' sexual assault case.

"Why should we trust a party that enables sexual abusers and allows them to stay in power, when it would have ultimately led to the impeachment of such a person," continued Governor Linda Lee. "We can not allow them to win the Nationalist House, disrupting your rights as free Jesstopians."

Many Nationalists have fallen out with Thomas Cooke over his lack of substantial policy, which the Republicans full advantage of. Republicans across this country have drastically shifted their weight and influence to Jay Laylin, as several Nationalists shift towards support for Laylin's presidency.

Other officials have strengthened their rallies behind Cooke's campaign and say they are hopeful that many will support a Cooke presidency. Experts believe that stalling poll numbers on the side of Thomas Cooke are a direct result of the lack of a sound economic policy which is the very weakness of Cooke.

NEWS 28 - President John McCallum's Nox City Mansion was swarmed by police and PPS agents after a woman opened fire around the President's home. PPS agents were able to safely apprehend the shooter.

The shooter, now identified as 32 year old Sharon Mallory, was apprehended by police who tackled her to the ground after finding her with an Glock 19. She was arrested by the Presidential Protective Service who says that she appeared to be in mental distress at the time of the shooting.

Governor Linda Lee addressed the situation through the Governor's website, with the following statement.

"I am very concerned about the safety of President John McCallum and his family, today, as we learn more details of the shooter who was firing of rounds near the house of the President. We are looking into this incident and are working closely with city, state and federal officials to uncover why this women was allowed to fire off shots so close to the President's home. Nox City Police Department have issued that they will increase patrols around his house and neighborhood," said Governor Lee. "As of now, PPS and Nox City PD don't believe this was an attempt on the life of the President. They do believe that the shooter was drunk, and had been experiencing a mental health crisis. She was arrested for "Unlawful Discharge Of A Fire Arm," and for "Unlicensed Carry Of A Firearm Or Projectile Device." As of right now, however, investigators want to know how she was able to get close to the home of the President, and how PPS, were not able to catch her at the main entrance of the neighborhood."

The Presidential Protective Service, has not released any public information about their ongoing investigation, but did confirm that President McCallum and his family weren't home at the time. An ongoing investigation is currently ongoing.

NEWS 28 - States including New Shire and North Lorray are sending national guardsmen and water to Mesa as the state continues to deal with its ongoing water crisis. Governors Lynn Rodgers and Linda Lee are sending billions to Mesa to aid in water testing and sanitation.

"We have a fellow state in need, now is not the time for politics and to be good neighbors and fellow Jesstopians," said Lynn Rodgers. "We will also be sending over 100,000 national guardsmen to Mesa to aid in distributing cases of water to families without clean water. We are also sending over 1 billion cases of water which should help the state's entire population. We will continue to speak with Governor Adamson about what he needs."

North Lorray Governor Linda Lee has issued over 2.6 billion dollars for them to test and sanitize their water. She also deployed 55,000 guardsmen to Mesa to aid in distributing bottles of water to state residents there.

"We are thinking of Mesa, Governor Joshua Adamson and are ready to help when and where we can," said Governor Lee. "This is not something that we deal with regularly so we must come together as one nation to help out our neighbors in need."

Other state officials are working out plans to send more water to the state with many states sending planefuls to Mesa's major airports. States are also still coordinating with other states to bring as many supplies as possible to state residents.

RUFUS - New Shire State has vowed to continue sending fresh drinking water to Mesa as it continues to deal with the ongoing water crisis. Governor Lynn Rodgers signed a funding package which was approved in both chambers of the state legislature that will send over 1 billion cases of clean drinking water to the state and provided 1/5 of its national guardsmen to help hand out clean water around the state.

"We have a fellow state in need, now is not the time for politics and to be good neighbors and fellow Jesstopians," said Lynn Rodgers. "We will also be sending over 100,000 national guardsmen to Mesa to aid in distributing cases of water to families without clean water. We are also sending over 1 billion cases of water which should help the state's entire population. We will continue to speak with Governor Adamson about what he needs."

RUFUS - President John McCallum has landed in Nox City, North Lorray where he will discuss an agreement to reopen a major oil pipeline that runs throughout the entirety of Nox City. Officials from Nox City City Hall, North Lorray's Governor's Office, and Federal Government Officials will meet in Nox City to discuss plans to reopen and create a long-term plan to keep it open.

"The Nox City oil pipeline is an important piece of infrastructure to the United States Of Jesstopia, and without our country will pay astronomical prices of oil imports," said President McCallum. "The future of our country's oil industry rides on his pipeline. We need to find an adequate solution to the problem, before our country is paying top dollar for an essential compound, oil."

The meetings will take place over three meetings and throughout the one week that he will be in North Lorray. The meeting will also include Federal officials including Department of Interior officials, Jesstopian Environmental Protection Agency, and several major oil companies. These meetings will work to establish a strong agreement between the landowners, oil companies and federal officials to pump Jesstopian oil and lower the cost of fuel for consumers.

"We look forward to working with President McCallum to establish a strong agreement between both oil executives, and our state to ensure that we can provide cheap gas for consumers well into the future," said Governor Linda Lee. "As President McCallum has said, this pipeline plays a key role not only to the North Lorray's economy, but to the federal economy as well and we must protect this valuable asset."

The oil executives that will be involved in the talks include Best Oil, Charge Oil Corp, and Babbit, Cobbs and Davis Oil Industries. They will negotiate for the pipeline to be handed over to them, in return, agreeing to work with the federal government, who will regulate the oil that is pulled from the pipeline.

Furthermore, President McCallum says he is hopeful that a tangible agreement can be signed before he leaves office in November. Congress would still need to agree to sign over some ownership of the pipeline, but that concerns some Congress members.

"I don't think handing over parts of a 'Federal" pipeline is the best idea, especially seeing as part of it will be handed over to oil executives who could somewhat call the shots on what happens with the pipeline," said House Speaker Gretchen LeWolf. "We must maintain control of federal assets, which in turn will allow us to regulate the lower costs of fuel at the pumps."

President McCallum is scheduled to speak with Nox City officials and North Lorray Governor Linda Lee on Thursday about the Nox City Pipeline.

NEWS 28 - North Lorray’s Auto Theft Task force has been operating and delivering g results under Governor Linda Lee and now that she has two years of leading the state under her belt, she is moving to start more ambitious projects including reducing lost vehicle theft cases.

In a brief issued to all major North Lorray departments, she issued that tracking and eliminating auto thefts is a main priority during her new term. Since the beginning of her second term on March 15, 2024, Governor Lee has continued looking for any way to reduce crime, be it through task forces, increased police patrols and daily check ins.

”I am very pleased to report that over 2 billions of stolen vehicles were recovered in a raid that was ordered early this afternoon,” said Governor Linda Lee. “These vehicles have been stolen since 2019 and we are pleased to have recovered them. This task force has done a fantastic job recovering these assets so that they can be returned to their rightful owners. Our law enforcement partners have done a great job and we are not done. We will continue us to seek and find stolen vehicles that have plagued this state for far too long.”

Over 250,000 cars were recovered. The vehicles in question were stolen from parking lots, private parking garages, out of people’s driveways and their home garages. The state had previously issued over 68 million in recovery efforts under then-Governor Sam Simon in 2020.

The state says it has no plans on slowing down and hopes to recover over 1 million vehicles by the end of next year. This includes boats, RVs and more. She has issued over 92 million dollars for the auto theft task force and is committed to recovering millions more over the next two years.

NOX - Governor Linda Lee kicks off her second term with an impassioned speech, envisioning a stronger, brighter and safer future for all North Lorrayans. She committed to providing more funding for important state programs including welfare programs, drug prevention measures including stricter penalties for those who pedal drugs within the state.

"I am also committed to providing funding for important state programs including increasing spending funding on wellfare programs, reduce crime and promote drug-free streets by increasing penalties for those who choose to run drugs on our State's streets." said Governor Lee. "I am committing at least 1.16 Billion dollars in funding to address the homelessness crisis that has plagued not only our state, but the entirety of the United States Of Jesstopia."

She also committed to addressing terrorism and preventing future instances of terrorism within the State. She says she is partnering with President John McCallum to accomplish this goal.

"I will also commit to addressing the terrorism crisis that has terrorized our State and Nox City. After today's ceremonies, I will fly to New Shire and meet with President John McCallum and work on solutions to secure our land, sea and air borders and ensure that no terrorism can continue to occur here and around the country." continued Governor Lee. "We are committing 250 million dollars to protecting our land, sea and air transportation networks and ensuring that domestic and international terrorists are caught well before entering our country."

She flew to Rufus County, New Shire after being sworn in for her new term and is scheduled to meet with President John McCallum tomorrow to start talks about fighting the terrorism, investing in stronger border control measures and ensuring safety via the ports of entry.

Lee who has served as Governor since 2022, said that she is committed to investing in state programs including welfare programs, reduce crime and strengthen penalties for those who run drugs in North Lorrayan streets.

"I am also committed to providing funding for important state programs including increasing spending funding on wellfare programs, reduce crime and promote drug-free streets by increasing penalties for those who choose to run drugs on our State's streets," said Governor Lee. "I am committing at least 1.16 Billion dollars in funding to address the homelessness crisis that has plagued not only our state, but the entirety of the United States Of Jesstopia."

She also committed to addressing the terrorism that has plagued the State the last 2 years, and says she will work with President McCallum and the Nationalist House to address those concerns.

"I will also commit to addressing the terrorism crisis that has terrorized our State and Nox City. After today's ceremonies, I will fly to New Shire and meet with President John McCallum and work on solutions to secure our land, sea and air borders and ensure that no terrorism can continue to occur here and around the country." continued Lee. "We are committing 250 million dollars to protecting our land, sea and air transportation networks and ensuring that domestic and international terrorists are caught well before entering our country."

Her current term is set to expire on March 15, 2026. She joins fellow incumbents Hilson Governor Westley Bronson in their new terms today. She is expected to sign her first executive orders of the new terms starting tomorrow.

JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - Governors Linda Lee, Rachel Hopkins, Westley Bronson are all looking forward to being sworn in for their second and third terms respectively, tomorrow morning.

Lee who is the only Incumbent to serve just her second term of the three, will be sworn in at 9:00 AM on the steps of City Hall in front of thousands of attendees. The ceremonies will kick off at approximately 8:45 AM with Governor Lee taking the podium to give her inaugural speech after her swearing-in ceremony. She will then fly to New Shire to deliver remarks on the bombing that claimed the lives of 45 people in Nox City last year, and to voice her concerns over the persistent terrorism that has plagued the State in the last 2 years.

Westley Bronson and Rachel Hopkins are entering their third terms in office, and both will sworn in at their respective Governor's Mansions in Hilson and Porter. Hopkins is expected to leave the Governor's mansion after he swearing in and to several meetings with President John McCallum to focus on funding for the State's new Border Patrol stations that will be constructed along Porter's coastal towns.

Attendees of the swearing-in ceremonies are being told to arrive to the venue an hour before the start of the event, to make sure they are seated before the governor's are sworn-in.

NEWS 28 - Incumbent State Governors Linda Lee, Westley Bronson and Rachel Hopkins will all be sworn in for their new terms tomorrow at 9:00 AM. All three governors were successful in their reelection bids during their State's respective 2024 Gubernatorial Elections.

Linda Lee was reelected to a second term on February 17, 2024, after winning 272 points against Harry Adams' 98 points. She was the top contender going into the election, and may predictions said that she would win a second term. She was leading in the election early on, and was certified the winner two days later.

"I look forward to being able to lead my state for another two years," said Governor Lee. "It is an honor to be able to continue my service to North Lorray. I look forward to what the next two years have in store for our state and the great people of North Lorray."

Westley Bronson also had a major victory, receiving 276 of the 270 votes required, against Perry Walter's 125 points out of 270. He also quickly won reelection and will be sworn in tomorrow as well.

"It is truly an honor to have the chance to serve yet another term in this great office," said Governor Bronson. "I thank the residents of this state for their trust in me as their governor and I will continue to work hard for them during these next two years."

Rachel Hopkins who will also be serving her third consecutive term also thanked her supporters, family and donors for their unwavering support for her campaign. She says that "Porter has seen the largest economic growth within the United States Of Jesstopia.
