RUFUS - The Jesstopian Supreme Court has struck down the 2024 Adult Content Ban that has plagued the country with protests. The court issued today that the ban could not stand as it "violated constitutionally protected media content," and "violated the rights of media production companies and the Jesstopia people."

"As an institution of justice and law, we must look at how and why such ban violates such rights, and what the Federal Government must do to protect those very rights enshrined in our Nation's constitution," said Chief Justice Hawthrodd. "We have all agreed that President McCallum's signature of the ban into law, violates his oath of office and the law can not stand, in any capacity."

The Supreme Court sent their opinion to Congress and the Nationalist House. The Supreme Court issued that the law must be reversed within 30 days in order to comply with Federal Law. The Department Of Justice has already implemented policies to block the Supreme Court's decision, but Congress has already begun its process to lessen the restrictive nature of the ban.

"I think it's disappointing that the Supreme Court judged in favor of getting rid of the child-protecting content ban," said Senate Majority Leader Larry Cofelt. "We must continue to protect children across this country from the harsh and sexual nature of adult media content. That is what the law is doing, but we must reverse course as it has been deemed unconstitutional."

Under Jesstopia Federal law, a motion can be pressed by the Supreme Court to force Congress and the President to quickly act, to address any one of its decisions, as is not the case in the US. This gives the Jesstopia Supreme Court a great degree of power and works in conjunction with the Federal Constitution.

NEWS 28 - New Shire Court Of Appeals Judge Henry Wraith has just been appointed to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States Of Jesstopia, replacing Justice Leanne Basett, who died on January 10, 2024. Wraith is a long term administrator of Justice.

Henry Wraith has served on the New Shire State Court Of Appeals, the highest court in the State Of New Shire since 1989. His service on the State's judiciary has prepared him to be an Associate Justice. He studied constitutional law, and has over 10 years of constitutional law experience and has show. He is one of the most anticipated Justices McCallum has appointed during his Presidency.

"It is important that the Supreme Court is filled, before Conservative morons take power," said President McCallum. "We want to fill the court with Nationalist judges, so that democracy continues to survive. Strong justices result in a strong checks and balance system. The Supreme Court plays a strong role in checking the powers of Congress, the President as well as being checked by the later two entities. Wraith is a strong nominee to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States of Jesstopia."

The Senate will host its confirmation hearings, which could take months, and Wraith might not take his seat on the Supreme Court until March. But Chief Justice, Gerald Hawthrodd says he is ready to welcome Wraith to the Supreme Court.

"Our Supreme Court family is ready to welcome Wraith to the Supreme Court," said Chief Justice Hawthrodd. "He has an extensive history of fairly, effectively and compassionately administering justice, as a Judge on the New Shire Court Of Appeals. He will be a strong asset to our court."

JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - Supreme Court Justice Leanne Basett has died, and the legacy she left behind speaks volumes to her dedication the law and equality. Her death marks the end of a 5 year career on the Supreme Court. She was 59 years old at the time of her death.

Her death was announced early yesterday by Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd, who said she died at home from complications of pneumonia she contracted on December 15. It was revealed that she had been struggling with a lung infection throughout Christmas and New Years.

The Supreme Court Justices each paid tribute to her dedication to the court over the last 5 years she served on it. Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd issued the following statement following his announcement of her death.

"We are unbelievably sad at the passing of Justice Basett. She has been a true leader on the Supreme Court and her passing puts a void in the hearts of our Supreme Court family," said Chief Justice Hawthrodd. "She was an exemplary Justice and we will never forget her service to this court."

President John McCallum has also paid tribute to the Late Justice, with whom he had a very strong relationship with during her time as DA of Rufus County.

"She was an incredible women who led and extraordinary life," said President McCallum. "Her service on the Supreme Court is only matched by her role as a mom, grandmother and sister. She held the deciding vote on whether codifying abortion as a fundamental right of women. Her death is an extraordinary blow to the women's reproductive rights movement. She was a blessing to the world. Amber and I send our sincerest condolences to her family."

She will lay in state at the Capitol starting on Thursday, January 11, 2024, and will be interred at the Nationalist House Burial Grounds on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Former Associate Justice Brad Errickson's Official Funeral Will Be Held On Monday and will be held in the Nationalist House due to a thunderstorm expected during the funeral service.

"The Nationalist House expects that a private viewing and service will be held in honor of the late Justice in the Nationalist House Memorial Room, which can be found on the first floor of the Nationalist House," said Press Secretary Lynn Rodgers. "Family will be issued special access to the building for the sole purpose of attending the funeral and burial."

Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd will also attend the funeral alongside Associate Justices Nolan Steinman, Gina Vasquez, Kelly Ashland, Martin Watkins, Leanne Basett, Robert Kott, and Nina Roland.

President McCallum and Vice President Simon are expected to speak as well, and President McCallum will also award Errickson with the Presidential Medal Of Freedom.

RUFUS - Following the death of Supreme Court Associate Justice Brad Errickson, the Senate recently confirmed Robert O'Lern as the next Associate Justice of the United States Of Jesstopia.

O'Lern who will be sworn in as an Associate Justice on Friday, will take Errickson's seat, and will pick up where he left off. President McCallum will be the official to swear him in, during a special ceremony, and then formally sworn in on Friday by Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd.

Errickson's funeral will be provided by the United States Of Jesstopia, federal government who will receive a full state funeral. The funeral plans have not be announced of now, but plans are expected to be released by the end of the week, this week.

RUFUS - Hours after he dropped out of the 2024 Presidential Race, Vice President Banks said that he would likely run for Senate. Just moments ago, Banks announced that he would seek to return to the Supreme Court, where he hopes to return to his post.

The Supreme Court is already full and VP Banks would have to contest the seat of Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd, but is unlikely to win the seat back without being appointed by the President. If Thomas Cooke is inaugurated President in 2024, he could fire Justice Hawthrodd, and could give Banks' his job back.

We ask Cooke if he would fire Hawthrodd to give Banks' his job back, and Thomas Cooke said that he wouldn't.

"I would only remove Justice Hawthrodd, if he was not effectively doing his job," said Cooke. "Vice President Banks should serve in his role as Vice President, and not focus on his next role until that time is needed."

President McCallum said that if he was seeking a second term, he would say the same thing. VP Banks should focus on his role as the Vice President. Nothing more, nothing less.

"I would like to return to my role as Supreme Court Justice, but if I can't, then I'll run for both the Senate, but if that doesn't work out, I'll run for House Speaker." said Banks. "The Senate has been a viable option if I can't return to the Supreme Court and quite frankly it is looking like that is where, I'll end up."

Late Yesterday Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd signed a Court Policy, which would require the Assistant of the Chief Hustice to reprimand any Justice for any use of Vulgur language in the Supreme Chamber of the Supreme Court Building.

”Our Justices are held and should continue to be held to the highest level of professionalism and leadership, as they all hold a major role in the USJ Supreme Court,” said Chief Justice Hawthrodd. “Our great nation was built upon fairness and courtesy and the Supreme Court was built no differently.”

The policy will require any Justice who violates the Court’s policy, to attend a Reprimand Session where the Justice must complete “rehab” for using vulgur language. It will serve as a write up. Nothing more. Nothing less.” Hawthrodd concluded.
