NEWS 28 - David Spane is now Cameron’s Governor and had a lot to say during his inaugural speech. He also thanked his supporters and the support they showed to him on his bid for the Governor’s Office.
“This state needs real, effective change and that starts today,” said Governor Shane. “For too long, our state has faltered and has been the subject of the rule of the Nationalist party and today we have a renewed look on our state’s future. We have so much to look forward to in the future and our future can be even brighter if we work together and make adequate change to the ways things have been.”
The State held the inaugural ceremonies at 9:00 AM this morning and a party will be held later today. The Governor will then meet with his staff and visit the State Capitol to meet with lawmakers there.
He will then head back to his office and begin signing his first round of legislation. It will be a busy rest of the day today as he meets with his cabinet and makes necessary changes to the cabinet.
He thanked her for her acceptance of the results and congratulated her on her time as Governor. He also alluded to several policies that he was in support of, signed during her leadership. He is expected to meet with other state officials later next week.
