NEWS 28 - 2024 Presidential Candidate, Ricardo Lachlan has dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race and has endorsed Jay Laylin. Lachlan said in a statement to supporters that there was no way to get the necessary votes needed to win the Presidency, and said that Laylin was the best way towards getting a Republican voted President.

"Our campaign team has come to the realization that we will not receive enough votes to get us the Republican nomination for President during the 2024 Presidential Elections," said Lachlan. "While we are eternally grateful for our supporters, campaign team, donors, volunteers and all of the 2024 Lachlan Campaign teams, we feel that Jay Laylin is the best candidate forward, and now more than ever is important for us, the Republican party to fall in behind him and get him into the Nationalist House. I am now announcing that I will withdraw from the 2024 Presidential Race and fully support and endorse Jay Laylin for President in 2024."

Republican voters have said that Ricardo Lachlan has a better chance in 2028, to run for President than as of now, and that they would support a Lachlan Presidency later on in 2028 or a future Presidential race. They said that as of now, the political climate would not allow for a sound Lachlan Presidency.

"Lachlan is playing a very steady hand, which will set him up for a future presidential bid, and potential winning the Presidency," said Kari Blake, a Republican political analyst. "Him dropping out now has shown that he understands the needs of the Jesstopian people and how a candidate can easily accept defeat when he knows he has no chance of winning. Lachlan should just wait to a later election. He has a strong following and could potentially run again in 2028 or 2032."

JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - During a visit to Alden, Mesa, ahead of several rallies to take place in Annex, Mesa, tomorrow, Thomas Cooke visited with some farmers who said that they are concerned that the federal government is trying to take their livelihoods away.

Cooke vowed to protect the work and income of the hard working farmers who continue to feed Jesstopians nationwide. He expressed his support for the farmers, the support he has shown to them as Governor of New Shire.

According to Cooke's campaign website, cookethurman2024.com, the presidential nominee stated that government over regulation of farming existed well into the leadership of Jessy The Great II.

“The farming industry has been under attack, since the leadership of Jessy The Great II,” said Cooke. “I understand there concerns, and I can assure them, that if I get elected, I will afford them protections that will prevent the Federal Government from stripping their income and taxing specific types of produce. 2024 will be a pivotal time for farmers and I look forward to being able to support them in any way I can.”

Farmers have supported Cooke's campaign since he kicked of his official campaign trail, citing that he has been "the savior of the farming industry." Farmers across the country say their communities are preparing to vote for him in 2024.

RUFUS - Presidential Nominee Thomas Cooke was in Alden, Mesa, ahead of his rallies in Annex and Alden rallies this week. During his stop into visit with State Nationalists, he quickly stopped by several towns within Alden County, to speak with farmers.

During his visit, they expressed their deep concern for the federal government's plan to tax more on produce that farms across the state are providing. He reassured them that he would focus on protecting financial interests and assets of farms across the country if he is elected.

Cooke who has been known to support the farming community, has previously signed legislation that protected financial assets from specific types of taxes. He expressed early into his Governorship that farming is a essential part of the state and the survival of humanity. He signed six additional executive orders limiting government overreach for state farms.

RUFUS - 2024 Nationalist Party Presidential Nominee and current New Shire Governor Thomas Cooke has peaked interest with voters as his focus from economic reform, which dominated a majority of his presidential campaign, shifted heavily to focusing on Veterans healthcare.

The presidential nominee says that Veterans are being sidelined, and in terms of healthcare, they are on their own. Cooke says that the veterans are not receiving the care they need and deserve.

"There is a lack of care for those that cared for our nation," said Cook. "That is disgusting and inexcusable. Something needs to be done about it and I fully intend on putting federal funding into better healthcare programs for our veterans."

Republican front-runner Jay Laylin, says that while he agrees that Veterans need more healthcare services, the current eco-political issues ongoing, are salting the water, thus funding is being thrown into the wars in Ukraine and Russia and say that "the Nationalists are the sole people responsible for it."

Laylin also called out the Nationalist party who were provided a bill back in 2019, to further fund veteran programs, the one which they rejected in a historic vote.

"It's funny how Thomas Cooke wants to spew that not enough is being done to help veterans, after his party, not him, voted in 2019 to reject a funding bill that would have invested over J 10 billion dollars in veterans programs," claimed Laylin. "The Republican party then tried back in 2022, to pass a funding bill that would have allowed Veterans who don't have decent health coverage to receive 10 free healthcare checkups a year, free rides to and from appointments and free housing for up to 2 years, but Nationalists struck down that bill. As President, I won't let the Nationalists destroy progressive, fast moving and veteran-aimed bills and destroy those who defended this country."

Voters from both parties say they think the idea is ambitious, and approve of it, but say they are doubtful that either side will fully come to grip with what is on the line. Many say Thomas Cooke is a smart man, who is well versed in negotiating, but say that Laylin is a great politician, but is relatively stubborn. Both sides agreed that it would likely not see a resolution or a bill signed on the matter any time soon and that even as President John McCallum's presidency slowly wraps up, he'd be unlikely to do anything either.

"I love our military. Our veterans, but I feel like Congress would just continue striking down each others proposals," said Frank Statter, a Republican Nox City Resident and voter. "It just seems like the Republicans and Nationalists are acting like siblings. One is fighting for the attention while the other will smear the other to get the attention. It would be really sick if the bill would pass, because like Cooke says, Veterans deserve way better than what they currently receive, which is less than the combat and service they put in within the military."

We can't expect their to be a bill passed, but veterans remain hopeful that whoever wins the presidency this year, will work on helping veterans get the healthcare services that they deserve. Other residents say that the bill is a bad idea, given, as Laylin says, poor eco-political conditions are not good for reducing funding in other areas to increase funding for veterans affairs.

NEWS 28 - 2024 Nationalist Party, Presidential Nominee Thomas Cooke was speaking at a rally in Nox City, North Lorray, in attempts to get Linda Lee reelected Governor next month, when an 18 year old man pulled out a weapon and fired it towards the stage where Cooke and Lee were standing. Police quickly apprehended the 18 year old male.

According to police records, the male who fired the weapon towards the stage(his name is being withheld pending an investigation), has a history of mental illness, and also found threatening tweets against the New Shire Governor and Governor Linda Lee, when she still served as Mayor Of Nox City. Police say they also found a AK-47, and a Sig-42 in his vehicle that was stopped on the side of Braddock Pass Blvd. Troopers of the North Lorray Highway Patrol also searched several other vehicles belonging to the 18 year old as well.

"We are continuing our investigation and are focused on the safety of Thomas Cooke and Governor Linda Lee," said a Representative from the North Lorray Highway Patrol. "The care of a major Presidential nominee is this agencies first priority as he visits the great state of North Lorray. We will take over the protection detail from Nox City Police Department and will work alongside Presidential Protective Service Agents until he returns home to New Shire."

Cooke is expected to remain in Nox City for the next four days as he campaigns around the state alongside Gubernatorial candidate and current Governor Linda Lee. City residents can expect a heavy police presence as Cooke makes his way around the state. Residents are being advised to plan alternate routes than their normal route.

RUFUS - Nationalist Party Presidential Nominee Thomas Cooke was fired at during a rally in Nox City, North Lorray. Nox City Police say the man in question was an 18 year old male who had previously made threats against the Governor of New Shire.

"We are still investigating the incident," said Nox City Police officials. "We are looking to obtain internet search history and weapons purchases where the firearm was purchased. Cooke's safety while he is in our city is a top priority. He is a presidential nominee so his PPS detail took over the protection of Mr. Cooke while our officers apprehended the suspect."

"I am apalled, shocked even," said Governor Linda Lee. "Cooke has been a great friend of this city and this state and now that he is a presidential nominee, it is even more dangerous for him politically. The North Lorray Highway Patrol will take over working with the Presidential Protective Service to ensure his continued safety during his week long trip to our state. His safety is my top priority."

Thomas Cooke, 2024 Nationalist Presidential Nominee Slowly Inches His Way Back Up On Polls.

RUFUS - 2024 Presidential nominee Thomas Cooke, slowly inches his way back up on polls, a week after it was announced that he was losing to Republican front-runner Jay Laylin. But recent polls suggest that Thomas Cooke is making a strong come back as the polls show that he is trailing only 38 points behind Laylin who previously had a 68 point lead against the Governor.

Cooke has slowly been gaining his lead that he once held for 3 years. As he continues to rally around the nation, he has sparked debate as to whether he would accept the nomination or if he'd seek to reopen the campaign, as he has yet to accept the nomination, the very nomination he was granted on December 29, 2023.

But his polling numbers are showing that he is still very popular among Nationalists, and if he accepts their nomination, he will likely be inaugurated as the 3rd President of the United States of Jesstopia in November. Even as election day gets closer, and less than a year away, we can expect Cooke to take the nomination and dominate in the polls.

2024 Presidential Candidate and current New Shire Governor Thomas Cooke slowly loses grip on Presidency as Jay Laylin surprisingly gains traction during 2024 Presidential elections.

JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - Earlier today, a review of poll numbers early this morning has revealed that Thomas Cooke's grip on an easy election to the Jesstopian presidency is slowly slipping, as Laylin continues to gain momentum. The Presidential candidates are set to face off during a special debate scheduled for February 2024.

Cooke for the better part of the last 3 years, has retained a strong grip on his nomination, which continues to be the case. What has slipped however, is an easy victory in 2024 and what he hoped would be a quick victory.

"The Presidential candidate has retained his grip on the Nationalist Party nomination, which is no surprise and should just be announced," said a Republican voter. "But his grip on the presidency in question, as previously said is slowly slipping away as Laylin continues to gain power and strength. While I can't stand him as a person, he is no doubt going to be the nominee for the Nationalist party, during 2024's presidential election. I'm rooting for Laylin, but it will be close between the two."

Other Nationalist candidates say they will drop out of the race, so that Cooke can be the main nominee, but James Hubbert says he won't drop out of the race, putting the Nationalists in a unique position. If a majority vote is held, the party can force him out of the Presidential race. That vote would need to be held before March. The party has not made any comment about whether they will host a vote to boot Hubbert from the ballot.

Laylin's campaign is ramping up attacks against Cooke, most likely in hopes to win over Jesstopians not sure who they want to vote for in 2024, or Nationalists who aren't for a Cooke Presidency. Targeted campaign ads are attacking Cooke's business background, his family, and the values that he has publicly spurted in speeches. The ads are also targeting his career as New Shire's governor, a role he will leave in May.

But even with the targeting ads, Cooke remains relatively strong, 25 points behind Laylin, a feat that no one thought could be done. Laylin remained heavily unpopular until the last 8 months, and even more popular now as the 2024 Presidential elections get closer.

Hubbert remains a threat to Cooke but not as big of a threat as Jay Laylin is to his chances at winning the Nationalist House. Laylin and Cooke have been sworn enemies since the beginning of Cooke's political career.

RUFUS - 2024 Republican front-runner Jay Laylin says that he will continue to investigate members of the Nationalist Party for corruption, especially President McCallum and others. He says an investigation into John McCallum has been sidelined by the Nationalist Party.

"If elected, I will investigate every instance of corruption within the Nationalist Party, and the McCallum Nationalist House," said Republican presidential front-runner, Jay Laylin. "For far too long, the Nationalist Party has held onto majority power, and has failed to do it's due diligence in investigation incidents of corruption. As President I will direct my Department Of Justice to investigate all instances within the Republican and Nationalist Party."

He also vowed to investigate lower level offices, including Attorney Generals, Governors and State law makers, who have been identified as corrupt or who have active complaints filed against them. He issued that both parties would have investigations filed against them.

"It is a matter of getting work done for Jesstopians," continued Laylin. "We can't have a government that has criminals and corruption. Our nation was built on justice, ethics and service. We can't have corruption. The Presidency can't have corruption."

Laylin has received backlash for his comments about the current President. Nationalist voters say if Laylin is elected in 2024, corruption and racism will skyrocket. He will attack members of our party for political gain. No Republican will ever face the music if allowed to occupy the Nationalist House.

Republicans also say that Laylin's presidency will "change the political landscape and induce swift and fair justice to those who commit crimes against our country, many of those who serve within the four walls of this Government."

RUFUS - Claims that James Hubbert was ending his 2024 Presidential bid had been circulating the internet for two weeks now, and Nationalist candidate James Hubbert has responded to the misinformation.

"There is no way I am ending my Presidential campaign at this juncture," said Hubbert in a statement. "If any information circulates that originates outside of my campaign, don't believe it. I plan on seeing this campaign through to it's finish. I hope to be elected President in 2024."

Other officials within the official campaign say don't believe a word any news outlet says until it is posted on the official campaign website of James Hubbert(jameshubbert2024.com), or any of its official social media accounts.

"Rumors are spreading like wildfires these days, so please use due diligence when seeking out information related to James Hubbert's campaign. If information can't be verified then it should not be trusted," said Hubbert's Campaign manager Sheldon Hauck. "Our campaign would be the first to announce that Hubbert is dropping out if that is the case."

Hubbert is the second popular option for the Nationalist Nominee for President in 2024, if Cooke drops out of the 2024 race(which is highly unlikely), or if he is forced to withdraw(again, highly unlikely.)

Hubbert entered politics back in the late 80s as a Governor Of New Shire then as a state Representative. His experience has put him on the map for several roles including potentially becoming the next Speaker when Braden Harris announce he was leaving the speakership to focus on his 2024 Presidential campaign.

JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - New Shire State Representative James Hubbert says he is not dropping out of the 2024 Presidential race in response to major headlines saying he would ‘make room for Thomas Cooke.’

During a recent press conference Hubbert was asked if he was dropping out of the 2024 Presidential race to make room for Thomas Cooke to become the 3rd President of the United States Of Jesstopia. He quipped ‘absolutely not.’

“I just want to start out by answering a question that I get often and that just came up again before this conference, do I plan on dropping out to make way for Thomas Cooke.” expressed Hubbert. “Absolutely not. What I want folks to rely on is my campaign website for valid claims and updates on my campaign run. I want readers to understand faxt from fiction that keeps getting pushed around. Use due regard while looking at articles claiming that I am dropping out of the Presidential race. The only source that voters should rely on is JamesHubbert2024.com. Hibbert has been reported to be the secondary nominee of Thomas Cooke doesn’t accept the nomination or is unable to accept the nomination for any reason. Hubbert has definitely gained traction with the federal-level Nationalist party members.

“While Hubbert has served for so long as a Representative in New Shire, his accomplishments are plentiful and our federal Nationalist Party members are definitely aware of his skills,” says Senate Majority Leader Larry Coffelt. “He could take a stab at the Senate or House and he’d easily gather support from the constituents in which he serves.”

NEWS 28 - 2024 Presidential hopeful and incumbent Vice President Travis Loretti has officially dropped out of the race and quickly announced his endorsement of the most popular candidate of all the Nationalist candidates, Thomas Cooke.

In a brief statement, he described his desire to seek the office in the future, but he explained how Thomas Cooke was the candidate the nation needed right now and the one who will be elected in 2024.

"I am hopeful that Thomas Cooke can get our country back on track and have no doubt that he will accomplish just that," said Loretti. "Vote for Thomas Cooke in 2024. Thank you for this incredible opportunity to run for our nation's highest and most honorable office. God bless you, god bless Thomas Cooke, and god bless the United States Of Jesstopia."

The 2024 Nationalist Lineup is slowly falling away as strong candidates push out the weak candidates. However, according to polls, Loretti was scoring relatively high in categories such as likability, progressiveness and effectiveness.

Loretti said that he is glad he can now focus on getting his friend and former foe elected President. Loretti is now redirecting campaign funds to pay for billboards, signage, social media and TV ads and other forms of advertisements.

RUFUS - In a twist of political fate, Vice President Travis Loretti drops out of the 2024 Presidential race, and endorses Thomas Cooke for President. The move comes days after a National Poll closes in, Thomas Cooke's popularity with Jesstopian Nationalist voters.

"It is with the utmost confidence that I announce that I am dropping out of the 2024 Presidential race," said Travis Loretti. "My confidence in Thomas Cooke as President will remain strong and I am honored to announce my Endorsement for Thomas Cooke."

The Loretti Campaign had converted the remaining funds into donations to the Cooke For President campaign. Additionally the Loretti campaign is expected to pay for signage to get Thomas Cooke elected President. He is also committing thousands in website ads, and social media ads as well.

As Loretti closes out his campaign, he explained that he would be open to running for President in the future. He says he will seek to be elected the House Of The People in 2025. After leaving the Vice Presidency in 2024, Loretti says he will take the year off and spend time with his family.

Thomas Cooke has not responded to our request for a sit down interview. The New Shire Governor is set to leave office in May as the 2024 New Shire Gubernatorial elections will be held in April.

President McCallum says he commends the decision, calling it 'politically strong.' Gretchen LeWolf has not responded to this news either but it is suspected that she agrees with his decision to run at a later time.

NEWS 28 - New Shire Governor Thomas Cooke is slated to make second campaign stop in Mesa, following his July campaign stop in the State. He is working towards getting support from voters in a state that is so Republican, every office within the state with exception to several mayoral offices are filled by Republicans.

"It is important that I put myself out there for a second time in Mesa, which is historically a heavily Republican state," said Cooke. "I understand that I have a very difficult task of winning over a majority of the state's Republican-leaning voters, but I am hoping to be able to understand their wants and needs and be able to deliver results for all Jesstopians."

Cooke made stops in Alden, Ashburn, Ashberry and Ackland, where he received a warm welcome from the voters there. He is hoping that a second visit will solidify his spot among Republican voters and hopefully he can appease both sides of the aisle.

Jay Laylin has expressed that he wouldn't need to campaign in Mesa, as he knows that he has a solid Republican foundation. Other Republicans who are running for the Republican nomination, have expressed concern about not campaigning in their home states.

"Historically, candidates who refuse to campaign in their home states, tend and are shown to lose their elections, because the people they rely on see themselves as useful pawns and we the pawns are used and neglected, they turn," said Micheal Smitty. "It is very bad for the political chances."

RUFUS - 2024 Nationalist Presidential Candidate Thomas Cooke has recently lost 24 points in several polls against his main rival in 2024, Republican Presidential Candidate Jay Laylin. According to several polls, Laylin is trailing in the polls that will be used to determine if his grip on the Republican Nomination is strong enough to allow him to nab it.

"I'm not too worried about polls at this point," said Thomas Cooke. "These polls always change and you can't really get a very reliable gauge on the polls until at least February-March of election year. So the fact that I'm not doing good isn't much I need to worry about at this point. It isn't even at the 1-year mark before the 2024 Presidential Elections."

Jay Laylin has said that the polls are showing the need for a Republican to win the Nationalist House in 2024.

"It is important to realize how strong the Jesstopian people's true power in elections is," said Jay Laylin. "And now that we see polls focusing in on what could potentially be a Laylin-Cooke match-up, I hope the voters see the failure of the Nationalist Party over these last 200-something years and the last year and 11 months of a Cooke Governorship. I'll see you on the debate stage Thomas."

As polls are turning in favor of Jay Laylin, many Nationalist voters say that they are disappointed in the polls that are making it seem like Cooke is losing his grip on the presidency in 2024.

"Jay Laylin and the Republican party are just bitter that Kirk Paul and Gerta Habson, were removed from office the same week," said a voter who identifies as Republican. "I don't support the party, but come on. It's absolutely ridiculous."

Other Polls have put Cooke leading in every major poll that has been released since the start of 2022. Most polls place Cooke 18-22% ahead of the candidates and even Pollster Inc, says that their recent polls place Thomas Cooke 25% ahead of the other Nationalist Candidates and over 32% ahead of Jay Laylin and his party's other candidates.

But as the nomination process inches even closer than the 2024 Presidential election, we can continue to expect a bloodbath debate, which will be one of the most interesting political debates in Jesstopian political history.

NEWS 28 - President John McCallum was speaking yesterday at an event for 2024 Presidential Candidate and longtime friend, Thomas Cooke, when a man jumped a security perimeter with a knife that was laced with a fatal poison, Ricin. If it had been successful, Thomas Cooke and President McCallum would've been dead within 2-3 days.

"The man in question is cooperating with investigators and federal law enforcement, and has requested that his name be withheld from the public in order to protect his families' privacy and safety," said lead FCIS and PPS liaison, Georgia Wilkson. "He has yet to confess whether he was working with a partner, or if he planned this alone. Federal search warrants have been issued for his computers, phones, cellular devices and other electronic records. His Twitter account had been granted access to Federal investigators."

Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok are required by Jesstopian Federal Law, to disclose twitter accounts of Jesstopian Citizens, with or without cause, as it pertains to the safety, security and well being of the country, its federal officials or is of great importance to the preservation of national security.

The warrants issued shortly after midnight this morning, and the Federal Crimes Investigation Service and the Presidential Protective Service have started receiving emails related to Gmail, Twitter, Google, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok, all of whom are observing Jesstopian federal law.

RUFUS - President John McCallum during a Thomas Cooke Presidential rally, was almost attacked during a campaign rally for his endorsed candidate for President In 2024, Thomas Cooke.

The incident unfolded a little after 1:00 PM on Wednesday, during a speech during Thomas Cooke's Nox City rally. The man approached the barrier fence and jumped the fence and Presidential Protective Service agents quickly subdued him after pushing both Governor Thomas Cooke and President John McCallum to safety. The PPS agents struggled to get the knife out of the would-be assassin's hands before the man was tased several times.

"Our agents are trained to protect the President and not only did they display skill in protecting their Protectee, they even saved the life of Thomas Cooke, by pushing him to safety," said PPS Director Timothy Wallace. "The agents' quick thinking and training kicked in and stopped a would-be assassin. The ricin used on the knife would have killed President McCallum within minutes of contact with the deadly substance."

After the PPS agents subdued the attacker, thunderous applause was heard from Cooke and McCallum supporters and voters, and they sneered at the attacker. After everything wrapped up and President McCallum started to speak, he said "Really?" and the crowd went nuts with laughter and claps."

The Presidential Protective Service said that it will provide updates as the investigation progresses, and says that the suspect's name is being withheld until a scheduled trial date is set. A Federal Judge will overhear the attacker's case.

"It is because of the quick-thinking and fast actions of the PPS today, that both President McCallum and I are still standing here, talking to you," said Governor Thomas Cooke. "The President and I are eternally grateful for the PPS and our men and women in blue. We respect the shit out of them. God bless the PPS and all Law Enforcement."

RUFUS - 2024 Presidential Candidate Jay Laylin, has formally announced that his Vice President pick during the 2024 Presidential elections. He announced Morgan Finnley would run by his side, hoping to defeat the Nationalists in the June Midterm.

"Morgan Finnley is versed in government and issues important to Jesstopians across the nation," said Laylin. "I chose him as my running mate as he is the best choice to get things done in my administration."

Finnley has not made any statement on being selected to serve by Laylin. He is not expected to make a statement until late next week.

RUFUS - Governor Thomas Cooke turns 54 tomorrow and his birthday marks the beginning phases of his 2024 Presidential campaign plans. In a recent statement, Cooke announced that the official start day of his 2024 Presidential Campaign will be September 15, 2023, and will conclude on October 12, 2024, when early voting starts during the 2024 Presidential elections.

The Governor's presidential campaigning team said that the preparations to launch his campaign are currently underway giving an estimated start date back in July and then again in October, of June 2023. However, Cooke's Presidential team have given a formal start date being September 15, 2023, which will allow him to have more than a year to campaign and garner support from voters across the nation. During his time as New Shire's 44th Governor, Cooke was instrumental in providing a strong candidate, seeking to become the popular candidate for President in 2024. He overtime, had begun establishing himself in the ranks of the Nationalist Party, and eventually, public support of the Governor of Jesstopia's Largest state grew to provide him a strong place in the Nationalist Party.

"Governor Thomas Cooke said that he plans on working towards launching his campaign in early-mid September 2023, but also pointed out the need to establish enough time for rallies, not only in New Shire, a key state that won Joe Diester the Presidency in 2020," said Lisa Darling, Campaign Rally Manager. "As we continue to plan his campaigning events, rallies, and speaking events, we are also considering where we can garner the most support and are starting with those places as a focal point, and Governor Linda Lee says she has fully invited Thomas Cooke to speak in her state and is asking North Lorrayans to open their arms and show their support for him."

But as aging Cooke prepares for a high-stakes, high-risk job, he also is reminded that his place in history rests on the votes of Nationalist Voters and the November 2023 Congressional Election which will seek to reseat several Congressional members. It is also an important election as it will decide whether the Republican party will grip control of one or both houses of Congress or if the Nationalist party will retain full control of Jesstopia's Congress.

"The stakes are high this election and the 2024 Presidential Election will be determined by who gains or retains control and what party nominations look like ahead of the 2024 Presidential general elections. Cooke has remained one of the Nationalist Party's lead contenders, and the candidate most likely to receive the backing of the entire party to be nominated to run as the Nationalist Party Presidential Candidate," said Erick Strife. "As it remains, there is still so much work left to accomplish and many meetings left to complete. Plans are not solid as of now, and we are continuously working to update, change and modify the campaign plans. It's going to take time."

RUFUS - Senate Minority Leader Jay Laylin had reintroduced his Presidential campaign after dropping out to serve as Simon's vice president. But after Simon's death was announced, Laylin remained hesistant to run, but ultimately decided to run, and promised to run in honor of Simon's life-long dedication to public service.

"With the recent passing of Sam Simon, I devote my time, energy and campaign to running in honor of Simon's political career and life full of dedicated, selfless service to others," said Laylin. "Today I announce that I will recommit my Presidential Campaign to honoring that legacy."

Laylin announced his Presidential Campaign back on November 18, 2021, but dropped out of the Presidential race on December 29, 2022, to serve next to Simon as his Vice President. He would have also served as the vice president of the Senate.

Laylin has served since 2011 as the Senate Minority leader, and finally announced his bid for President in 2021. Laylin will announce his vice president running mate by June 2023.
