NEWS 28 - Voters in New Shire, Cameron and Lorray are preparing to hit the polls in less than two weeks. New Shire voters are preparing to replace outgoing Governor Thomas Cooke, where as Cameron and Lorray voters will decide whether or not their incumbents will remain in office or if they will be booted from their offices.
"This election cycle in New Shire, Cameron and Lorray will be a lot busier this time around than the last, as multiple offices will be up grabs during their 2024 elections," said Nancy Yates, a political analyst. "Governor Thomas Cooke isn't seeking reelection as he is running for President, so it completely empties the possibility of an easy reelection. However, Lynn Rodgers appears to be his likely replacement, and it is heavily speculated that Parker Jackson will loose a second time to a Nationalist Gubernatorial candidate."
The State of Lorray is likely to reelect Nicole Pitless as she remains a strong leader in the state. Robin O'Keeffe will have to win over her people as her popularity in polls continues to diminsh. Last time three states held elections in 2024, their voters in North Lorray, Hilson and Porter, reelected their incumbent governors, respectively. This election cycle will likely be a toss up as incumbents seek to keep their jobs, even as the Presidential Election is even closer now.
Governors Nicole Pitless has retained a heavy lead in polls consistently and will likely win a second term in office. However, according to experts, her only pitfall is being to hard on small businesses, as she raised business tax rates 15%. She has received countless complaints from the Lorray Department of Taxation and Business Development, who claim that she is too harsh on Taxation for smaller businesses who are struggling to stay afloat. Lorray has not Product Mart stores and it is looking to expand into Lorray, but says it will not until Taxation is reduced at least 5%.
Governor Robin O'Keeffee is not very popular, among her state and has consistently been criticized for her weak-on-crime sentiment, including high taxes, and poor housing and economic policy. She was slow to adopt stronger safety policies after the Uvalde school shooting in 2022, where Governor Thomas Cooke and many state governors quickly passed.
The Election cycle will kick off on April 10, at 7:00 AM. Voters in all of the states will vote on election day and no early voting has been authorized for any of the three states hosting elections on April 10.
