NEWS 28 - Civil rights activist Fred Flaker says he is challenging Speaker Matthew Carrington to his seats as the Representative for New Shire's 28th and 37th Congressional District in September. The news comes just hours before Carrington is set to speak with President Laylin about a budget bill.
"Today I announce my intention to run for Congress, hoping to work for the hardworking people of New Shire's 28th and 37th Congressional District," said Fred Flaker. "Under Matthew Carrington, our district has seen destructive spending habits of the Representative in Congress. He is unable to make the effective and necessary change that he promised during his campaigns for Congress in 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, or 2022."
Flaker has been a civil rights activist who has pushed back against unlawful Nationalist laws, allowing men to change in locker rooms with women, pushing to take rights away from parents who speak out against the transgender community. During his time as a women's rights fighter, he pushed back against then-President John McCallum's unlawful spending of taxpayer money on transgender operations. He says that Congress needs to spend time focusing issues important to the people, not what is in the best interest of their pockets.
Speaker Carrington was not available for comment about being challenged during the 2025 House Elections. His office hasn't responded to our request for comment.
