NEWS 28 - President Jay Laylin will hold his first public appearance since his January 12 shooting. The appearance will also mark his first press conference since the shooting as well.
"The president has made it clear that he was not and will not be deterred from doing his duty as President, even after something like what he experienced on January 12," said Nationalist House Press Secretary Nancy Yates. "He also issued that he will request to full weight of the law be thrown at the shooter. He has been working behind the scenes while his face healed from the injuries he sustained in the shooting."
The president is scheduled to deliver remarks at 8:30 AM. Most major news networks are set to televise the president's first public appearance since the shooting. Broadcasts are set to begin slightly before at around 8:00 AM.
