RUFUS - President Jay Laylin is scheduled to deliver his first press conference in the Nationalist House Press Briefing room since his shooting last month. The president was severely wounded by 24 year old Mexican citizen Juan Carlos Perez. President Laylin will give his first in person public statement at around 8:30 AM. The President is set to deliver remarks on the West Portico of the Nationalist House later this week.
"The president has made it clear that he was not and will not be deterred from doing his duty as President, even after something like what he experienced on January 12," said Nationalist House Press Secretary Nancy Yates. "He also issued that he will request to full weight of the law be thrown at the shooter. He has been working behind the scenes while his face healed from the injuries he sustained in the shooting."
The president is scheduled to deliver remarks at 8:30 AM. Most major news networks are set to televise the president's first public appearance since the shooting. Broadcasts are set to begin slightly before at around 8:00 AM.
