NEWS 28 - Former President John McCallum is set to release another book and will begin speaking at events, something the president previously said he would be against. He is scheduled to host his first public speaking event since leaving the Presidency in November in June.
The former President said in a May interview that he would likely stay out of public spotlight for at least a year after leaving Rufus. He has since reversed course citing that he is "getting bored sitting at home." The President issued a statement on his private Nexus account.
"I am ready to get back to doing something. I am getting bored just sitting at home doing nothing. While I appreciate the time I get to spend with my incredible family, I need to remain active," said former President John McCallum. "That is why I have begun working on a book, and that will be released next January. I think I am looking into doing more humanitarian work, something that I took interest in while I was President. I do have speaking events planned and I am accepting bookings for speaking events. Public life was made for me."
The former President has been spending the better part of the last two and half months spending more time with family, working other books and media publications. He is expected to speak to a group of Political Science Major students in Nox City, at Nox City University.
"The president looks forward to being able to do more speaking," said his public information office, David McWilliams. "He will make a debut at several law schools in the coming months. He is also expected to oversee the beginning of the John McCallum Presidential Library which will be built in Nox City, his hometown."
