RUFUS - Vice President Cole Bindle, who is currently serving as Acting president, signed two executive orders that aim to increase Defense Spending, which in turn will ensure a stronger military and advance military technology. Bindle had previously supported the spending increase.
The order will temporarily allow the Nationalist House to incrementally increase spending for the Defense budget. This executive order also allows the Defense Department to bypass Congressional approval for additional spending. But the executive order is only temporarily at this point and means that the extension of increased spending will only last for a short term.
"The president, before his January 12 shooting, said that he wanted to sign the orders to ensure that the Jesstopian military had the funding they needed to defend our country, and the allies that we hold dear as a nation," said Vice President Cole Bindle. "As acting president, I hold the temporary executive authority of the president and my signature on executive orders is just as good as when President Laylin signs an order. I will always ensure that our country remains safe, and that the very people that defend our country everyday have the funding they need to ensure we can continue to be defended and to ensure we continue to adapt to new and foreign threats."
The Vice President signed Executive Orders 300.111 and 300.112, which authorized the Department Of Defense to access a increased budget, now set for 890 million from its usual 800 million dollars, giving 90 million more in funding for other technological advances in the military.
