NEWS 28 - President Jay Laylin has announced that the full military withdrawal from Ukraine has been completed and that no other Jesstopian troops remain in Ukraine after a 5 months of the troop withdrawal. The withdrawal was estimated to take until March, but was later changed to December, The troop withdrawal was finally completed when the last plane left Ukraine on its way back to the United States Of Jesstopia.
The Nationalist House confirmed that the final troops have returned home, and the President confirmed the troop withdrawal via X, before giving a press conference announcing the completion of the withdrawal. The president criticized President John McCallum for sending troops over to Ukraine in the first place.
The president's X post which was posted at 3:20 PM, confirmed that all troops have departed Ukraine, and were either home or headed home. The President welcomed the troops home and said that they should never have been over in Ukraine.
"The final troops have departed Ukraine and not further Jesstopian troops remain in Ukraine, as part of the United States Of Jesstopia's full military withdrawal from the country. Welcome home to all Jesstopian military personnel, who should never have been sent overseas," tweeted President Laylin.
"There is absolutely not reason that troops should have been sent over seas to fight a war between two other countries," said President Laylin in his press briefing. "The United States and Ukraine's key allies didn't send troops over there, and we were the only country that had troops fighting alongside Ukrainian soldiers, needlessly dying for what? A war that Jesstopia should never have gotten involved with."
The president continued to address the need for a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, and a long-term plan to maintain peace between Israel and Hamas. He says when he meets with US President-Elect Donald Trump in February he plans on discussing the very topic, and working to end the global wars that started under President Joe Biden.
