NEWS 28 - President Jay Laylin has arrived in New York City ahead of the ball drop scheduled for 12:00 AM. The President announced last minute that he was taking off for NYC, before the Nationalist House was able to confirm his trip.
The Nationalist House confirmed that he was in NYC, when Press Secretary Nancy Yates was asked if the President could speak on his economic policy when the new Congress begins. She confirmed that he was going to stay in NYC until tomorrow afternoon.
"The president is now in New York City, for the ball drop," said Press Secretary Nancy Yates. "He had made plans to depart Jesstopia to watch the ball drop live, and he hadn't confirmed to us whether he would make the trip or not, until an hour before he left for the US. He is the president, so that decision falls solely on him."
The President wasn't available for comment, but it is likely that the trip was planned last minute, to accommodate the president's schedule. The President scheduled to return to the US in late February to meet with US President-Elect Donald Trump.
