Then-presidential candidate Thomas Cooke waves at onlookers during visit to Mesa. He is seeking to be elected to the JS Senate in 2025. He officially launched his campaign on December 24, 2024.
RUFUS - Former New Shire Governor, and 2024 presidential candidate, Thomas Cooke has officially kicked off his Senate campaign. He is hoping to be elected as one of the six New Shire State Senators during the 2025 Senate Elections. The Senate Elections will be held on September 5, 2025, and all elected Senators will be sworn in on November 10, 2025.
Thomas Cooke, who sought election to the Jesstopian presidency in October, said that he was setting his sites on federal office again, as many experts say his presidential loss was from a lack of experience in the federal government. Many experts say that most people in the United States Of Jesstopia are looking for leaders who hold federal government experience, so running for the Senate and if he wins, will give him the much needed government experience needed to show that he would make a good president.
"I am honored to be working towards winning at seat on the Jesstopian Senate, hopeful to preserve the rights of all Jesstopians, and block many of President Jay Laylin's anti-Trans policies," said Thomas Cooke. "If I win, I will work hard for ALL Jesstopians, shooting down harmful policies that target individuals and individual groups. I will work against a violent and hateful rhetoric and ensure that the LGBTQ community is protected. We can not let Republicans take the Senate, or the House, for that matter."
Thomas Cooke has received praise from existing Nationalist Senators who say he would be a good fit for Senate. While they did address his losses, they said it just simply "wasn't his time yet to be President." In previous statements, prior to his 2024 Presidential Defeat Senators and House Representatives alike said that he would be a good fit in either chamber of Congress. They said that if he lost the election, which he did, he would be welcomed and very much elected to Congress.
"I have spoke to many of my friends in the House and Senate and asked them for guidance while running my campaign," continued Cooke. "They help me understand what is to come, and I am eternally grateful for them and their support of my campaign. We will continue to raise money to push our Senate campaign forward to success."
Additionally, he has currently saved up 9.6 million dollars in campaign contributions with at least 2.4 million expected to go towards campaign ads. He says he is still receiving campaign donations and donor donations as well as pushing forward with strategic ads targeting different areas of New Shire.
"We are running a great campaign so far and have raised more than 3.22 million dollars in supporter donations," said Nancy Turner, his election campaign manager. "We have a lot of work to do, but we are highly confident that we will be able to get him elected to the Senate. Republicans can't gain control of the Senate, and we need our supporters and all voters to turn out in support of the Nationalist Party in September. We have more work to do."
The 2025 Congressional Elections will take place between June and September with various internal elections taking place. Further, several State level offices will also hold elections during this time.
