RUFUS - President Jay Laylin and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a tentative peace treaty, and signed a formal declaration of peace, which ended the war between Russia and the United States Of Jesstopia. The peace treaty was signed just before 11:00 PM this evening.
The treaty, effectively and officially ended the war between Jesstopia and Russia and allowed for more talks to be ongoing about ending the Ukraine-Russia war that had started when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. The Department Of Defense has said that it remains on high alert with Russia.
"There is so much work that needs to be done, to allow us to return to world peace, and ensure domestic and international cooperation," said Defense Secretary Cobyn Willard. "National security will never be 100% certain if enemies exist within the world and we don't have strong relations with other countries. Our allies play a key role in global security so being able to make global relations peaceful and working for a common goal can help make this peace treaty mean more."
The US and Canada are warning of potential Russian attacks against the United States Of Jesstopia, in terms of technology and financial institutions. Russia has claimed that it will not attack technological systems in the United States Of Jesstopia, citing the peace treaty it signed with the United States Of Jesstopia.
"We don't want to cause any further issues with the United States Of Jesstopia after our peace treaty," said Russian President Vladimir Putin. "We will continue to observe our peace treaty, and we will not interfere with the operations of the Jesstopian military and as long as they stay away from Russia and Ukraine, we will be okay."
The Jesstopian State Department said in a brief statement that the treaty was "tentative," and full of "compromises." They said that the treaty was signed in good faith and was fully agreed to by both the Russian government and the Jesstopia government. The peace treaty is a major step to repairing Jesstopian-Russian relations.
"Russia has taken the first step towards global security and peace, and therefore, pushed for the signature of the treaty between the United States Of Jesstopia and Russia," said President Jay Laylin. "We will continue to work towards advancing global peace, and we know that this is a major step forward, therefore we must keep up with promoting world peace."
