NEWS 28 - Senate Minority Leader Harry Rodham Wednesday morning announced that he would be running for the Speakership during the 2025 House Speaker Elections. He announced his bid, just hours after Speaker LeWolf announced she wouldn't support President Laylin's deportation efforts.
"Today I officially announce that I am seeking to defeat Nationalist Speaker Gretchen LeWolf next year during the 2025 House Speaker Elections," Senate Minority Leader Harry Rodham's tweet read. "Her blatant threat to block President Jay Laylin's deportation efforts, is a violation of Jesstopian Federal Law, and her role as House Speaker is to aid the President in securing our homeland. We need an effective leader that will work for the Jesstopian people, and that will put Constitution over greed. That is why I am running for the House Speakership. We need real leaders who will be in charge of closing off our borders, who will work hard to protect Jesstopia's people and who will not put party over people. I hope to be your next Speaker, and ensure you get to the polls next year and vote for your Speaker and your Representatives. Your border security is not something you should put in the hands of someone who just doesn't care. Let's get to work to secure your borders and elect me as your House Speaker."
Rodham had previously eyed the Speakership in 2016 and 2019 respectively, before being defeated by Speaker Karen Mickey and than by Speaker Braden Harris. This will be his third run for Speaker, and he is likely to be up against some very strong Republican challengers.
Furthermore, the House Speaker Elections of 2025 will be a tough election, because of the Nationalist Majority. Experts say that the Nationalists would have to lose significant seats in the House for the majority to be Republican. That would be a unlikely scenario, that would need a miracle to take place for it to become reality.
