NEWS 28 - President Jay Laylin kept a campaign promise that he made regarding reversing the 2024 Israel Travel Ban on day one in office. He fulfilled that promise a little after 4:00 PM in the Executive office. He signed the reversal order calling the ban "hate fueled," and "antisemitic."
"The travel ban was unnecessary and it quite frankly shows the incompetence of leadership," said Secretary Of Defense Corbyn Willard. "The fact that Israeli's were alienated by our government is highly embarrassing. Now President Laylin is trying to heal the wounds that the last administration left on our standing with Israel."
The ban reversal was announced by President Jay Laylin on his X account, where he called the ban 'antisemitic'.
Today I signed a reversal order on the 2024 Israel Travel Ban signed by former President John McCallum," the president wrote on X. "The ban is not only hate fueled, but antisemitic. We won't stand for that under my administration."
The ban is no longer in effect and officials of both the Jesstopian Government and the Israeli Government are looking to come to mutual, binding agreements that these bans don't occur for "mere political purposes."
We spoke to the President after he signed the reversal order and he told us that he is excited to welcome back the Israeli people back to our country.
"I am so excited for the Israeli people to began traveling back to our beautiful country, a country many of the Israeli's continues to shape and build," said President Laylin. "This ban should never have happened and on behalf of the United States Of Jesstopia, I apologize to the our allies. We look forward to political and economic cooperation moving forward."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called to thank President Laylin for reversing the ban, according to sources close to the president. According to these sources he thanked the president for being on the "right side of the fight."
