RUFUS - Just weeks after Henry Tankis announced he would not be able to take the role of Press Secretary due to family issues, President-Elect Jay Laylin announced that he was still searching for his replacement on the cabinet. The President-Elect floated several names around, but ultimately chose Nancy Yates for her strict defense of Laylin and the Republican Party.
"I am pleased to have selected Nancy. She is strong, she is fierce and I know she will handle the press very well," said President-Elect Jay Laylin, who scheduled to be sworn in tomorrow afternoon. "She will bring a very strong presence to the Nationalist House and I know she will be an incredible Press Secretary. I thank her for her many years of fair, truthful reporting and calling out falsehoods during her tenure on both News 28 and Rufus Times news."
Nancy Yates, is a political analyst for News 28, who played an instrumental role in defending Republicans from violent Nationalist rhetoric. She will take on the role immediately tomorrow, upon Jay Laylin's inauguration, along with the other confirmed members of Laylin's cabinet.
"I thank President-Elect Laylin for his trust he places now into me, to serve as fourth Nationalist House Press Secretary," said Yates, who will resign from her post at News 28, during tonight's show. "I am ready to speak for the president and be truthful, honest and open about the president's agenda. As he says, let's get to work."
