Former New Shire Governor Thomas Cooke announced that he was seeking election to the Jesstopian Senate.
NEWS 28 - Thomas Cooke failed presidential candidate and former New Shire Governor, announced that he was seeking election to the Jesstopian Senate during the 2025 Senate election which will be held between June-November. The Senate races will kick off in November 2024.
"Thomas Cooke would be a good alternative, but he is going to have to fight like hell to defeat a sitting Jesstopian Senator," said Senate Majority Leader Larry Cofelt. "Thomas Cooke now has a presidential election under his belt, so his chances are much higher now to win a Senate seat, then they would be if he had not run for the Presidency. While I don't want to jump the gun and jynx his chances to win, I don't see why he couldn't replace Morrison next year."
Thomas Cooke announced his Senate campaign around 9:00 PM this evening and said that he has much more work to do before he can win the Jesstopian Presidency.
"The loss of the presidency while disappointing as I previously said, it has allowed me to see a much clearer picture than I previously held," said Thomas Cooke. "I now see that I must work to prove my worth to the people of this country. That is why today, I am officially announcing my candidacy for the Senate Of The United States Of Jesstopia. For far too long has Benjamin Morris benefited from constituents, while providing little output for the people of this state. We must put six people willing to help our people, in the Senate. My hope, and my review of my presidential loss, is to focus on a shifting political landscape and recenter our country on a course to greatness, fairness and more tolerance. I run on the promise to "Make New Shire Fair For Everyone."
Cooke announced his candidacy at a speaking event where he met with students of political studies at Bradford University, and he announced his candidacy there, where he received thunderous applause.
