NEWS 28 - YouTuber and Social Media Personality David Fenton has been arrested after threatening President-Elect Jay Laylin and posting threatening posts to X and YouTube about the President-Elect and Vice President-Elect Cole Bindle. The Presidential Protective Service agency has arrested Fenton and are currently investigating the threats he made towards Laylin and Bindle.
"We believe this threat to have had the potential to be carried out, as we found in his home six rifles, two handguns, and a bomb making equipment," said PPS Director David Calmarro. "We are continuing to investigate his motive, and the reason he made those comments. The suspect's name is David Fenton, of Mast County, Brighton. We will continue to provide updates as the investigation unfolds."
David Fenton is a known YouTuber who had made comments back in October 2023, that Jay Laylin shouldn't be able to win the election as he is a "threat to gays and transgender people across the country." His calls falling on his followers but unsuccessful in giving Thomas Cooke the Presidency in 2024.
Now he made these threats against the President-Elect. Officials believe as Inauguration Day gets closer, more threats will made towards Jay Laylin and Vice President-Elect Cole Bindle. The Presidential Protective Service and the Capitol Protection Service are ramping up law enforcement patrols and posts to ensure Inauguration Day goes smooth and both Laylin and Bindle are safe.
"We are going to fortify inauguration day to ensure that President-Elect Jay Laylin and Vice President-Elect are safe during their inauguration on November 16," said Capitol Protection Agency Director Mable Tart. "This is a major even in Jesstopian history so we must ensure that a peaceful transition of power prevails and successfully happens."
