RUFUS - Presidential candidates Thomas Cooke and Jay Laylin are scheduled to host dueling town halls tomorrow morning where the two will take questions from Nationalist, Republican and unsure voters. The two town halls will serve as a replacement for the cancelled final presidential debate, while allowing voters to ask questions very important to them.
The town halls are scheduled to take place at the same time and will be televised live on all major news networks. The town halls are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. The town halls will be hosted in Rufus County, New Shire, with Thomas Cooke holding his town hall at the New Shire Governor's mansion, with Jay Laylin holding his event at the State Capital.
"These town halls will give both candidates a chance to ensure that voters know who they are voting for, giving Nationalist, Republican and unsure voters a chance to ask them questions about topics that are important to them," said Nancy Yates, who will host Jay Laylin's town hall. "There is a lot of questions that are restricted during moderated television presidential debates. These events, while still political, give a chance for candidates to speak on issues that may not be covered during a presidential debate."
Voters from both parties will ask each candidate questions, and the candidates will answer those questions for an hour. The town halls are taking place at various locations. Tune in tomorrow with pre-town hall coverage beginning at 9:30 AM.
