RUFUS - The New Shire State Police troopers who were killed while filing paperwork at their headquarters Thursday, have been identified. The troopers in question had been with the agency between 4-20 years.
The first trooper killed was 45 year old Matthew Poala. He joined the New Shire State Police when he was just 21 years old. He was the filing a report on an arrest when he noticed the man with the gun begin opening fire on the troopers.
The second trooper who was 56 year old Colonel David Skullice, who had been with the agency for 22 years. He was the first to engage the suspect, and the first one to be slaughtered.
The last trooper who was killed was 25 year old Daniel Braddock. He was the last to be killed, but fought for 20 minutes to kill the suspect before he ambushed the young trooper and shot him in the back of the head.
All three troopers are being honored and their funeral plans are expected to coincide together. The agency is expected to pay for the entire funeral for all three troopers.
