JESSTOPIAN NEWS NETWORK - Governor Joshua Adamson yesterday added more penalties for Mesians who fail to comply with Evacuation orders.
On January 31, Governor Adamson signed executive orders that mandate arrests for residents who fail to comply with state and local evacuation orders. The Governor’s office said in a statement on Friday morning that “these orders are important to keep residents safe and essential to getting through this flood season. Residents are required by law to follow these evacuation orders as they pertain to the preservation of life.”
Lawsuits across the state are being rejecting by the State courts as they cite “The Governor has the sworn duty to act to protect in times of crisis and in times of natural disasters. The state courts recognize his authority and side with him in the issuance of his executive orders. He is carrying out his duties.”
The Supreme Court Of The United States Of Jesstopia has also weighed in on the matter, with Chief Justice Gerald Hawthrodd siding with Adamson.
”The governors of each state have power to conduct business however they see fit, as the Supreme Court ruled back in 1980 in the case of States V. The Federal Goverment, which stated that state Governors have the authority over the states until the authority is violated and physically harms the persons or discriminates against such persons,” said Chief Justice Hawthrodd. “What Adamson is doing is in attempt to preserve life and safeguard citizens he is sworn to protect. He is 100% in his rights to do what he needs to do.”
