ALDEN - Mesa Governor Joshua Adamson has just signed yet another executive order and declaration citing that the if residents continue to resist evacuation orders, they could be hit with jail time and a fine of up to J 20,000.
The order comes just 18 hours after Governor Adamson issued that residents will be arrested for failing to follow evacuation orders, and voters are angry about being told when they can visit home. Several lawsuits against the orders have claimed that Governor Adamson is "overstepping his emergency power authority and authority as Governor Of The State Of Mesa," and also alleges that "Governor Joshua Adamson is overstepping the Mesa Constitution and is trying to assert his authority over us."
Several other suites across the state have been filed but have been rejected by several courts across the State. The Mesa State Court Of Appeals says it will not hear any case without a solid foundation.
"My job as Governor is to 'protect, defend and uphold the constitution of the state of Mesa, which includes protecting and preserving life and limb," said Governor Adamson. "As I have already declared a state of emergency, it is now up to me to defend the residents from injury, illness or death, and I will do that in way I, as Governor, see fit. I will not address this further as I have made an executive decision to protect the lives of thousands of Mesians across this state. I will not compromise in that."
