RUFUS - House Republicans announced that they would recess witness testimony until Congress reconvenes on January 1, 2024. The decision to recess the investigation until then was a result of the war in Ukraine and Israel, as well as the bombing in Nox City that killed 20.
"It was mutually agreed that we should recess this investigation as their is bigger issues at hand," said House Minority Leader Gregory Harks. "We have the recent Nox City bombing to deal with, and we are focusing our time and energy in providing emergency response funding packages for that. On top of that we are still dealing with the wars in Ukraine and Israel. We felt that this investigation didn't take precedence in this case."
The House is continuing to collect witness lists but is not actively hearing testimony related to October 29. Congress will be opened by Gretchen LeWolf on January 1, 2024 but Congress will recess on December 15, 2023.
