RUFUS - With the arrival of President McCallum and Prime Minister Ricketts into Polton, it marks the first time a leader of a democracy step foot in the country in over 70 years. The last time a Jesstopian leader step foot in the nation was in 1945. and Jessy The Great II met with King Marcus I.
"This meeting and the arrival of the President into Polton is very significant as it could signal the beginning of a partnership between the two countries. The last time a Jesstopian leader was in Polton was in 1945, and it was the last time a leader would step foot in the country until McCallum," said Poltian History expert Terrance Ashendow. "The meeting between President McCallum, Fredrick Ricketts and King Georgie V could also spark some form of foreign relations between the three nations."
The meeting is scheduled to take place at noon and likely will last a few hours. The meeting will go over the disputed land, and the treaties, agreements and other documents pertaining to such disputes. The United States Of Jesstopia is hoping King Georgie V will relinquish the land back to it. Prime Minister Fredrick Ricketts will be there as a mediator.
Leaders from around the world have also issued their own statements regarding the meeting. Members of Jesstopia's Congress say they are looking forward to seeing what the meeting results in. It also says that is closely monitoring details of the meeting.
The Nationalist House says it will provide updates as to the progress in talks between McCallum and Georgie and says that he will also give an address to the Jesstopian people sometime after he gets back from Polton.
