NEWS 28 - President McCallum's trial has begun and the opening arguments have begun and will continue until the end of today. During opening arguments, President McCallum's lawyer Patrick Laney accused the 'victims' of having it out for the President and asked the jury to remember and consider this during testimony and throughout the trial.
"The supposed victims had it out for the President," said Laney. "Please remember that when you hear this case."
The Senate Ethics Committee convened late last night to set out procedures for the trial this morning and will following the procedures during the trial. Evidence and testimony will begin tomorrow.
