RUFUS - Day one of President McCallum's trial has kicked off this morning, with opening arguments being delivered by both sides. The arguments will carry on into the afternoon concluding around 2 PM.
President McCallum's legal team consists of Patrick Laney, who serves as the President's personal lawyer, Jack Meadows, and Paul Thomas. They are all experienced in the legal field and was selected by President McCallum and Patrick Laney.
The plaintiff's legal team consists of Brick Adams, Rodger Blaine, Porter Shaw and Rick Sanchez. They are seeking compensation for the actions of the President and say they are also seeking additional compensation for defamation as they claim he continued to spread falsehoods and baseless claims.
The trial is also being overheard by Senate Majority Leader Brad Newsom, and Minority Leader Jay Laylin. They will hear his case and the claims made against the President. They will remain impartial during the trial but will ultimately decide if President McCallum is guilty of the charges brought against him.
The trial was delayed twice, first due a family emergency in the Newsom family, and the due to the death and state funeral of former Vice President Sam Simon. The trial was rescheduled for this morning and begun at 9:00 AM.
