RUFUS - With President John McCallum's sexual assault trial scheduled to start this afternoon, and several large pieces of evidence holding the power to make him innocent or guilty, it will determine what kind of political future he will have and if he'll even have one.
"This trial will overscore my innocence in this matter, and I look forward to being acquitted on these charges," said McCallum. "I lost many good people from my administration as a result of these serious and horrific allegations. I don't want to lose anyone else."
The trial begins at noon and opening arguments will be delivered today, by both sides with arguments being done this entire week. President McCallum will not be present for the first weeks, due to his obligations as President.
In the next two weeks, or more, evidence will be presented, and evidence will be discussed. Testimony will begin within the 3rd or 4th week and will see the evidence presented to the ethics committee which will aid in providing evidence on whether McCallum sexually assaulted the women.
The committee will be overseen by Senate Majority Leader Brad Newsom and Senate Minority Leader Jay Laylin. It will start at noon and a call to order will be given at noon.
