NEWS 28 - The Senate Ethics Committee has recently opened up the trial to the public and news media after a petition was filed to do so. The petition which was filed last Thursday requested that the trial be opened up to the public as it relates to "a government function", which is "within the rights of citizens to have such knowledge about."
"While the petition to immediately require us to open the trial up to the public and news and media was filed last week, we as a governing body will voluntarily open up the trial to the public and media, which will allow for full Government transparency," said Senate Majority Leader Brad Newsom. "Our party has been committed to 100% transparency within our time in control."
The call to open up the trial to the public comes as concerns that the victims are looking to gain something without being in the public's eye concerned many citizens, who are planning to follow the trial closely. They also say that the Senate Ethics Committee has the legal obligation to be transparent with Jesstopians nationwide.
The trial of John McCallum will be televised on all major news stations starting at noon local time and President McCallum is expected to be in person next week.
