NEWS 28 - With the announcement that Vice President Sam Simon planned on resigning, many Nationalists wonder who will replace him. Many people speculate that it could either be House Speaker Gretchen LeWolf, Former House Speaker Braden Harris(the most likely) or current New Shire Governor Thomas Cooke(which is very unlikely).
First and foremost, Harris supported both President Joe Diester, and then President John McCallum. Harris even continues to support President McCallum as it gets closer to his trial, and has not once taken the side of the majority of the Nationalist Party. He has remained vocal about his support for President McCallum when most Nationalists have sided with the Republicans, and want to remove him from office.
Thomas Cooke seems unlikely, because he is working towards winning the Presidency in 2024, and he was passed up the first time, when Richard Banks resigned back in August for similar allegations. Also, he hasn't been very vocal about supporting McCallum, which makes sense, since he is running for the office in 2024, and doesn't want his campaign to be centered around his support for a potential sex offender.
LeWolf would also be a strong choice for McCallum, as she has remained on his side, issuing that she doesn't plan on approving an impeachment inquiry. She has vocalized her discontent with her party hanging McCallum out to dry and leaving him to fend off attacks from his own party.
But at the end of the day, either Harris or Cooke will be selected, and if we are going to put our bets on person, it will most likely be Harris, because he only serves in Congress as a Representative.
