NEWS 28 - A little after 11 PM this evening, Vice President Sam Simon announced that on December 26, 2022, he would resign from his role as the 3rd Vice President of the United States Of Jesstopia, which he has served since August 20, 2022.

In a tweet released early this evening, he announced his impending resignation to allow government to continue, and his falling out with the scandal plagued President, also contributed to the decision to resign. His resignation will take place in two weeks, and a replacement will be appointed by President John McCallum in the coming week.

Simon will move back to his home state of North Lorray after his resignation takes effect in the next two weeks, and he will keep his Vice Presidential Protective detail up to 20 years, meaning he will no longer receive protections after 2042.

Simon has fought hard to get McCallum out of office, but he likely realized that it wouldn't work in his favor. He said that he will continue to win the Presidency in 2024, and will work to indict President McCallum when and if he becomes President.
