ALDEN - The Mesa Highway Patrol is currently investigating a stabbing that left a teen dead, and a community rocked.

According to the Mesa Highway Patrol, the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation with one of her roommates, who reportedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen, and viciously attacked the victim with it.

The Mesa Highway Patrol is holding the roommate for questioning and to allow a psychological evaluation to be conducted.

”This is a horrific scene, and the Alden Community is shocked by the victims death,” said MHP Commissioner Lewis Donaldson. “Our investigators are working diligently to ensure we have a solid case and the murderer goes away for a while.”

No further details have been released by the MHP as of yet, and the medical examiner’s office is expected to release its report by Monday.
