RUFUS - At 10:00 AM, Gretchen LeWolf officially took over the role as House Speaker, and the 32nd Speaker overall. Harris gave his final speech as House Speaker, congratulating Speaker LeWolf on her victory. He also gave her wise words, such as reminding her to remain impartial, unbiased and without political reservation.
"I, Gretchen LeWolf, do solemnly swear to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States Of Jesstopia, and to promise to defend the United States Of Jesstopia from any terrorist, either foreign or domestic and to uphold my constitutional duty as Speaker Of The House Of The People. I also do swear to faithfully execute the duties of the office in which I am about to enter." recites LeWolf.
LeWolf will serve as House Speaker until 2025. She was elected on September 24, 2022. She will also continue to work as the Representative for New Shire's 18th Congressional District. She is likely to seek another term as Speaker, but as of now, she says that she is "focused on the stability of the House," and "isn't looking
Additional information regarding what her first actions will be as the newly sworn in House Speaker are still up in the air, and not much is known about her first events will be as House Speaker. Some that we know include addressing Congress for President McCallum's 2023 State Of The Union Address, which will take place on January 1, 2023, concurrently with the opening of the new Congressional session.
