RUFUS - Braden Harris will leave his speakership tomorrow, when Gretchen LeWolf is sworn in as Jesstopia's 32nd Speaker and 5th female to serve in the role. She will address her fellow Representatives as their newly sworn in Speaker. She will also enact her first act as Speaker.
Harris' term ends at 10 tomorrow morning and he will return to his role of representing New Shire's 8th District. He has done so since 2005, with him being elected House Speaker in 2019. His three year term saw the implementation of several fairness policies as well as the implementation of general debate rules.
During his time as Speaker, he played a pivotal role in getting abortion codified in the Jesstopian Constitution. He also played an important role to declaring war with Russia, after the country attempted to have President McCallum assassinated. He aided in ensuring the President and Vice President's safety, by coordinating with the Federal Crimes Investigation Service and other Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.
With LeWolf assuming the role, many voters are hopeful that she will continue fighting to ensure Ukraine remains safe, and hopes that she will be able to convince her Nationalist Party colleagues to sign several financial packages to ensure that Ukraine has weapons, ammunitions, military tanks and other equipment.
LeWolf has told us that she "is ready to take on this very important role with a strong mindset and ensure domestic tranquility." LeWolf's Deputy, Matt Carrington will also take the stage tomorrow to address the House as its Deputy Speaker.
