RUFUS - Former Acting Vice President, Travis Loretti has recently announced that he will be seeking the Presidency in 2024, days after leaving his role as acting Vice President, which he served as from October 3, 2022 until
During a press conference, held on October 24, 2022, Loretti announced that he would be formally submitting his candidacy for President during the 2024 Presidential Election.
According to several sources close to the former Acting VP, he was weighing his options for running for President. Not only is it a major decision for the Nationalist Party in March 2024, but it is also a serious campaign mission for both Thomas Cooke and Sam Simon, who are both seeking election to the same office. Cooke is a strong contender, as is Sam Simon, with Simon being Cooke's biggest threat in 2024, now with a smaller candidate, who is not so well known on the National level, it could really become a major battle for the Nationalist House come November '24.
"We can expect, at least of now, either Sam Simon being nominated or Thomas Cooke nominated as the Nationalist Party candidate for President," according to Nationalist Party Political Analyst Nancy Loden. "Loretti would really have to run a strong campaign and receive enough support from prominent endorsements from leaders such as the President and Vice President, House Speaker, Deputy House Speaker, and other ranking Congressional Officials.
It will be interesting to see what Nationalist Party Convention Decides. Loretti has not made any formal comment regarding his campaign.
